Kai was still crying when Scott had arrived, not questioning him, Scott let out a sigh and sat next to his old friend. This wasn't the first time the two were together behind the warehouse doing things they shouldn't be doing.

"Whatcha doing back at the village?" He asked, lighting a cigarette. The brunette weakly threw his empty water bottle across from him, making a thunk noise when it hit the ground.

"Come to visit my parents." Kai sniffled, tearing up still, his face cold from the tears. The hooded boy merely nodded, exhaling the smoke.

"Didn't go well huh?" Scott stated, taking in a deep breath. Kai nodded painfully.

"What are you doing here?" Kai asked, a wobble in his tone. The raven shrugged.

"Same old, taking business to a new area." He said, the cigarette infiltrated Kai's senses, he had forgotten the taste over the years. He breathed in the smell, remembering the buzzing feeling it gave him all those years ago.

The two sat in silence for a while as Kai calmed down. The raven provided a sense of comfort to the brunette. Pulling out a small clear ziplock bag filled with a pink substance, handed it to the dazed brunette.

"No, I stopped doing it, I can't, I promised." The boy broke into tears again, not drunk enough to blindly accept the bag Scott was handing him.

The raven nodded and pocketed the drug. The two continued to sit in silence, the day slowly turning to night. Scotts cigarette had gone out while Kai sat there numbly. He didn't know what he was going to do. Hanging his head, Kai stifled a cry.

He had already cried so much he wouldn't let himself cry again. Kai's headache had returned for the worse. Ran out of his drink too soon and the past crying worsened the pain. Scott patted his back in an attempt to comfort Kai.

"You look like you could use some tulip though." He suggested again. Tulip being the slang word for Chanel, Kai lifted his head up looking at Scott. The idea sounded better as each minute went by.

"Even if I wanted it Scott, I don't have any cash on me." Kai replied tiredly, his eyes burning as he went back to staring at the ground.

"Take it as, uh, a welcome back gift from me, I'll even throw in this drink I found." Scott pushed, showing the definitely stolen bottle. Kai wasn't sure if he wanted to take it. 'Just take the bottle and get rid of the tulip.' He thought, it seemed simple enough.

'It seemed simple enough back then too.' His mind reminded him, Kai knew couldn't accept. He couldn't imagine how his family would react or even his team if he was caught doing it.

'It's not like dad and mom won't berate me with questions later, might as well go with something to ease the nerves.' Kai convinced himself, letting out a tired sigh. He held his hand out to Scott, the boy gave him the small bag and set the drink next to Kai.

"Might wanna start heading out soon. It won't be long till granny comes looking for you around here." Scott suggested, pulling his hood over his head, Scott stood up. Dusting his pants he began walking away.

"Yeah.." Kai whispered, still looking at the ground, clutching onto the small bag.

"You ever decide to get more, you know where to find me." Scott said leaving Kai alone.

Kai groaned, bringing a hand to his temple. He had to get back to his parents soon or else granny will find him and that never ends well. Hesitatingly Kai unclutched his hand, looking at the small pink filled bag. He had a choice to make and he knew which one he was leaning towards.

Kai regrettably woke up to the sound of birds and faint humming. Groaning lightly he pulled a thin blanket over his head. Kai's head thumped in pain. Turning around Kai realized the floor he was laying on was not bedding but just a square of hard concrete.

Confused, Kai sat up, holding his hurting head. Looking around, he saw Granny sitting beside him, the familiar tea pot at her side, with an extra cup. Her humming, now more apparent.

Groaning the boy's senses became clearer, looking around Kai saw that he apparently decided to sleep out here instead of going back to the shop.

"Good morning Kai." The old woman said quietly, taking a sip of her warm tea.
Kai recalled what had happened last night and internally groaned.

"Tea's ready, have some before you head back to your parents. I would hate to send you up there with that painful attitude of yours." Granny said, pouring Kai his own tea.

"Yeah yeah.." Kai responded quietly, gratefully taking the tea from her. Taking a sip, Kai looked around, his empty water bottle across from him, the tiny bag still had some tulip in it. The beer bottle nearly finished, the liquid taunting Kai.

"When did you find me?" Kai asked Granny, the elderly woman humming stopped.

"How I always find you Kai, out of your mind and talking nonsense about my gnomes." Granny joked, Kai chuckling at that.

"You know, Connor right. We can't keep hiding your problem from your family." The older woman said quietly, Kai choked on his tea.

"But you won't tell them right?" Kai asked desperately, the old woman didn't answer him, she only drank her tea.

"Connor might have already gone up to the shop and told you mother." Granny said.

"That crazy old man." Kai grumbled. Granny looked at Kai with a somber expression.

"He cares, Kai, deeply. You might not see it but this is not about stolen beers. Connor wants to see you grow up strong and healthy, hoping you'd come back home safe." The elderly woman croaked,

Kai turned his angry face away from her pleading eyes. He didn't want to believe that the old man could care for him that much.Granny exhaled deeply.

"Your father is still looking for you, best you head on to the shop." The old woman said, taking her tea pot and Kai's half full tea cup. Walking away from Kai she glanced back, the boy still not looking at her. She frowned.

'I can't go back now! That old man ruined everything if he told mom already.'  Kai anxiously thought, ignoring Grannie's earlier words. Brushing through his hair, Kai came to a conclusion, if he was sold out by Connor then Kai's only solution was to leave  a note and disappear.

"Genius.." He whispered to himself. Making his way to the shop Kai found himself rethinking the plan he had.

'What if the old man didn't tell mom yet? Maybe I still have a chance to fix things." Kai optimistically thought, climbing into the window of his bedroom. Kai sneaked into the house, opened his door quietly and peeked into the hallway.

'Maybe I should just leave the note..' Kai thought, his anxiety getting the better of him, 'No, we'd have to face this at some point might as well rip the bandaid off myself.' He retaliated against himself.

Walking slowly down the stairs Kai heard his mom crying.

"No Ray! He's still not here-" Maya was pacing around the house, talking into the phone with his dad. Kai gulped, feeling guilty that he had made his mother worry.

Bracing himself, Kai walked into the living room, Fully showcasing himself when Nya and Maya screamed.

"He's here! Kai's back!" She said as ran up to hug him. Hugging her back Kai whispered apologies to the crying girl. Maya had joined their little hug.

"Where have you been, my son?" Maya questioned. The boy struggled to say when Ray busted through the door.

"Where is he!?" Ray shouted, running into the living room where Maya and Nya had Kai trapped in a hug. Ray joined them in the hug much to Kai's surprise.

For a moment, Kai felt strange, he hadn't been hugged this much or for this long in years. He didn't know how to feel about it.
