"I'm guessing it went well then?" Cole asked Lloyld, who was lying on the ground of the monastery. The blonde only grumbed a response. It made sense that Morro would want to defeat the all powerful green ninja as quickly as he could. You could practically feel the joy in the breeze from the sparring match. However Morro didn't win, Lloyld did.
"It was-How do I put this? Like he was fighting a child that didn't know what he was doing!" Lloyld said frantically, waving his hands around. Cole stood there confused, he had sparred with Morro before and the non-ghost sparred with him like any of the others.
"And I just stood there like an idiot! I couldn't..I-I couldn't do anything." Lloyd trailed off quietly, reliving the fear of standing in front of Morro.
"But you did something in the end though that counts as something." Cole said, trying to comfort the young leader.
He hadn't seen the match but he could guess why Morro 'took it easy'. The poor boy was in no mental condition to be sparring this early to the past villain. Not what Morro had done to him.
"I still hesitated though.." Lloyd grumpled, upset at himself.
Flicking Lloylds head, Cole forced him up. He wasn't about to let the young leader spiral down.
"You'll get over it one day, but for now who do you think will win?" Cole asked, watching the other two ninja wrestle in a merge of blue and red.
Jay wasn't allowed to use his elemental power against Kai since Kai literally could not use his and that would make things very unfair for Kai.
Using only their physical strength, Kai struggled a bit to keep his balance while Jay struggled to keep his strength balanced. The urge to zap the hot head was far too normalized.
"How can they spar so easily?" Lloyld asked, the team were still a little tense around the red ninja but still treated him the same as ever. It was a little weird to Lloyld, how the air around the team changed so quickly. One minute it was worrying about Kai's withdrawal symptoms and the next it was like nothing ever happened.
"I tap out, I tap out!" Jay yelled, Kai loosened the pressure on the poor ginger's arm. Since Jay didn't believe in Kai's 'Secret training with Wu', he challenged the brunette and clearly, he wasn't winning.
"Believe me now?" Kai taunted, using all of his strength to keep Jay down, luckily growing up and handling heaving items really built Kai's strength up.
"Yeah yeah- just get off already!" Jay yelled back, shaking his arm away from Kai. The brunette helped Jay up from the ground and snickered.
"Maybe you need special training." Kai continued to tease him.
"Oh shut up." Jay responded, embarrassed. Had he just left Kai alone he wouldn't have gotten his ass kicked. Even then, he got Zane the information he needed so maybe it was a win win.
Head still pounding from the adrenaline, Kai went and sat with Cole and a sulking green bean. Drinking from his water that seemed to do nothing to satisfy his thirst.
"So, up for another match?" Cole asked, daring Kai with those deep irises. Kai shrugged nonchalantly, his ego too high.
"Anytime, anywhere!" Kai dared, before getting hit with a wave of pain, grunting in pain from his lower back. Causing their small group to surround him cautiously.
"Are you alright, Kai?" Lloyld asked, concerned. Kai waved them off, of course he was fine! Not like he was getting pounded in the ass for a whole month straight.
"I guess you're just too old to fight such a youthful person."Cole playfully teased Kai's old man-like spine. Kai shot him an offended look, Kai wasn't about to let that slide.
