Kai was now sitting on the steps of the monastery in the middle of the night with a hoodie shivering, since Morro had insisted on doing some wind practice. Much to Kai's disagreement, it seemed like everything was much colder since the clasps came on

Grumbling as the wind blew harder on him specifically, causing Kai to tremble visibly.

"What, can't keep warm enough anymore?" Morro teased, knowing damn well how repressive the clasps were. Kai rolled his eyes, not wanting to argue more. His throat was too dry anyway and he didn't want to speak more than he should to Scott when he arrived.

A figure began to take shape as it heaved onto the steps. Scott was reasonably pissed at the amount of stairs he had to go up just to meet his old friend.

Scott huffed as he fell onto the floor, legs tired from all those steps.

"This is the guy?" Morro asked, unimpressed by Scotts miserable appearance.

"Yea.." Kai answered, knowing that this wasn't the best introduction.

"Couldn't we have met at the bottom?" Scott huffed tiredly, weakly standing up he patted his pants.

"I mean, I didn't really think of that." Kai shrugged, they really could have, he just didn't want to walk all the way up again.

"Doesn't matter anymore, I'm here, what did you want?" Scott asked, lowering his voice.

"Oh Kai here wants to be blacklisted." Morto answered, shocking both Kai and scott. Kai whipped his head toward the master of wind. Confusion on his face.

"What are you sayin-" Kai was interrupted by a rush of wind hitting him straight on reminding Kai of his position, a warning. Silencing the boy, Morro continued on.

"Kai here, wants to quit before things get 'too  bad'. Morro explained, winking at Kai. The boy was stunned, this wasn't what they had planned. Morro was screwing him over. 'Or maybe..he is trying to help me.." Kai thought unsure, staying silent, letting Morro take over the deal.

"Is that right, Kai?" Scott asked, looking at him. Kai nodded slowly, still unsure of what Morro was doing. Scott held his chin, thinking before he too nodded.

"Sure, I'll get Kai blacklisted from my sources, but what about you? Surely you didn't call me all the way out here just to tell me that." Scott narrowed his eyes, knowing there was more to this meetup.

Morro smirked, seeing as Scott wasn't as stupid as he thought. Kai's suspicions were killed, he felt embarrassed by thinking Morro actually cared enough to help him. "Why am I complaining about that? I don't want or need his help."  Kai grudgingly thought. Scowling to himself.

"Of course not, I would like to discuss some things with you in private." Morro said, shooting a look at Kai. The brunette got up and left then quickly.

Seeing the boy obey him so quickly brought Morro a sadistic satisfaction, the pieces in his plan working together so perfectly.

"This is what I need." Morro began.

——————-——————-

Kai didn't care what Morro was doing anymore, his head hurt and his body ached. Walking through the halls of the monastery quietly, it was dark and far too quiet. Making his way to the kitchen Kai was looking for anything, any medicine, bitter juice or warm drinks.

The clasps had taken his warmth away and Kai was getting more and more agitated. His body trembled as he searched the cabinets, he didn't care about the rucks or noise he made. Chills ran through his body, prickling every part of him.

Tears welled in his eyes, he finally found the small bottle of painkillers, laughing out loud in triumph. Kai opened the small bottle with struggle, the trembling in his hands increased with the pressure.

"Fuck!" Kai yelled angrily, the bottle popped open with a couple of pills being thrown out, Kai ignored the mess he was making, pouring a handful of pills into his hand Kai shoved it into his mouth.

Chewing and swallowing as much as he could, wanting relief, the boy hugged himself. Waiting for the warmth to set it and make him feel better, instead he got tackled roughly.

"Spit it out! Spit it out!" Cole shouted, panicking, smacking his back. Kai choked up a small amount of the smushed pills, having already digested the larger amount. Kai jerked, trying to get Cole to let go of him.

"Stop it Stop it!" The boy sobbed, the coldness had returned and burned his body.

"You know I can't do that-"

"Ts solod, let me be warplease!" Kai cried out, trembling, his words smushing, creating incoherent sounds. Cole couldn't understand what Kai was crying about but he knew he needed to calm him down, before the others came and made it worse.

Holding onto Kai, Cole managed to get him a few inches away from the mess. Backing into the cabinet Cole pulled Kai into a tight hug. Not expecting Kai to hug back, being desperate for warmth of any kind, the pills having not worked yet.

"It's ok, you're fine now." Cole whispered, hoping his words console the crying boy in his arms. Kai's trembling stopped abruptly, the painkillers hitting him hard.

"Kai?" The boy was gone, he was so warm and the fuzzy feeling inside him wanted to sleep. Cole shook him for a response, getting none he asked again.

"Kai?" Louder this time, still no response, turning him around Cole saw Kai's pupils dilated. Yet Kai still didn't respond, he just sat there unresponsive to anything.

Cole began to panic, picking him up he rushed Kai to the infirmary. Laying Kai's unresponsive body onto the bench, he rushed out to find Zane.

Slamming the door to Zane open. Startling the nindroid up, "Emergency! Kai's not responding!" He shouted, grabbing Zane and pulling him out.

"Cole? What's happened?" Zane asked, concerned and alert now. Seeing Kai laying down on the bench, unaware of what's going on.

"I-I found him on the floor with some pills so I made him spit out but I was too late- he already ate most of it and now I don't know what's happening to him!" Cole explained as best he could. Zane began doing some tests on him when he asked Cole to hold Kai in a sitting position.

"This might be gross for you so feel free to turn away but keep holding him up until he's finished." Zane ordered, placing a bucket beneath Kai's face, sticking two fingers down Kai's throat, causing the brunette to gag.

Approximately five seconds later Kai was barfing the remains of the pills and snacks he had that night. The painkillers left Kai high and warm for the rest of the time he spent in the infirmary. Cole by his side, concerned for him as Zane cleaned out the bucket and monitored Kai.

And Morro standing outside with a couple of flowers  in small bags waiting just for him and a smirk on his face.

A small chapter for now. I will be going on a small break to focus more on school and perfecting the plot point of this story. I'll be back with another chapter in about two weeks or so.
