„Darling." A distant voice called out, and I sleepily hum in contentment.
„Darliota." I can feel my eyebrows frowning at the weird change of the name.
„Idiota!" Something soft was smashed against my face that followed after the shout, and I startle awake with a yelp. My back leaned back, my fists flying up and hold before my face in a fighting stance.
My barely open eyes look at the red man standing before the bed, „What the fuck are you doing here, Cactus?!" I shouted back at him, causing his arm to lift and massage over a higher part of his mask, seemingly forgetting that he wears a mask or he would've massaged his forehead.
Silly goose.
He seems to be getting it too, looking at his fingers for a moment, clearly disappointed in himself as he should, before pushing a sigh out and turning to me. He found me still in a fighting stance with my face pulled into a ‚you startled me and slapped me with a pillow, wanna fight?' grimace.
„The fourth game is about to begin, so make yourself ready. Five minutes." He shortly demanded, and I let my fists fall before I hastily stood up.
„Five minutes?! Are you kidding me?" He grew silent, and I looked down to see the robe barely covering my front. My arms instantly went to sling it around me, looking with wide eyes toward him.
„He'll kill you if you say a word." I lamely threaten, but I don't think it's necessarily a lie.
„No, he won't since this," His gloved finger darted between me and the bed, „Won't ever be my business." He ended his sentence with his finger literally in my face, before dramatically turning around and walked to leave the room.
„It will once I'm coming to you to complain about how he broke my heart!" I shouted after him through a smile, knowing I won't ever do that and involve his life with this business, something that could end with him getting killed.
„Five minutes!" He shouted back in response, and I laugh underneath my breath.
After that, I hurriedly rush to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, brushed my hair and changed into my player's clothes in record time. My bestie still feels a bit sore, but it's nothing I couldn't handle.
Cactus led me out of the masked man's apartment, and I briefly wonder where he's off to since I'm certain that I fell asleep in his arms. Yet I'm sure that he had a reason for that.
Like the last game, Cactus led me to the commotion and let's me blend in with the other players on the stairs. I still have to think what I'm going to tell my dear friend, since I can't just gossip with him about my little affair.
I despise lying to him. I know that every lie will surface, and this is why I try to not grip onto that option. Lying is so draining, too. It makes you rehearsal your performance over and over in your head, and with it takes your mental energy.
