Y/n's POV:

Even though it was getting dark, I could still instantly tell who the socs were. They were the ones who decided to pay a visit at the Diary Queen earlier. I grabbed onto Soda's arm, almost scared to death.

"Hey we don't want no trouble," Soda spoke up.

The socs didn't say anything and kept walking towards us. "Hey pretty broad," the one smiled at me. I feel Soda tense up at that comment.

"What do you want?" He snapped.

"Just your pretty little girlfriend. I'll give her a good time, and send her back your way," he said while staring at me.

I was fighter. I didn't get scared easily, but this scared me. I held onto Soda's arm tighter.

"She's not going anywhere. Not with you at least," Soda said starting to back away.

"Hey wait a minute Bob," one started to say. He looked older than all of them. "I think this is the pretty little girl your brother, John, raped before he went off the college."

"Oh yeah, she does look like that pretty little girl," the one, Bob I think, said.

I looked up at Soda with tears in my eyes. Is what they were saying true? If so, why didn't anyone tell me?

"Leave her alone," Soda growled, looking back at the socs.

They grinned at him, and instantly clicked out their switchblades. I shivered at the sound. They ran up to us, grabbing Soda. I let go of him and socked one in the jaw. Two other ran up to me grabbing my arms, holding me back. Their leader, Bob I'm pretty sure, walked up to my. His hands slid down my face, and made their way to my waist.

"I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, huh?" He said. I tried to break free from their grasp but they were too strong for me. He stroked my cheek. He was about to kiss me when we heard screaming.

"DARRY! STEVE!" Soda started to scream. "DAL! TWO!" One of the socs socked him in the gut and he doubled over in pain.

"No!" I said. Well that was a mistake because I got met with a smack to the face. Now my old man and b/f/n had hit me before. But this one hurt like hell. I choked back my tears the best I could.

"Don't fucking touch her." A voice said behind Bob. It was Dal. He had heard Soda.

"Oh else what, grease?" Bob said. Now if there's one thing I learned being Dal's friend over the years, you don't ever talk back to him. Ever.

Before Bob knew what had hit him, Dal did. He beat up Bob and the two who were holding onto me ran over to fight Dal. I ran over to Soda who was still on the ground in pain.

"Soda," I whispered grabbing his hand.

"I'm sorry no one told you what happened doll," he said putting his hand up to my cheek where Bob hit me. I winced at the pain.

The socs ran away into their car and Dal walked over to us. "You okay, Y/n?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine," I said while smiling up to him.

"Alright, well I'll be at Buck's if ya need me," he said walking away.

Me and Soda sat there for a bit in silence. No one didn't know what to say. I think this is the pretty little girl your brother, John, raped before he went off to college. Those words were playing over and over in head. Why didn't anyone tell me? How old was I? How did I forget something like that? Finally, Soda spoke up.

Soda's POV:

Me and Y/n sat there in silence. We should've known this was going to come back to bite us in the ass. Steve should've known he can't protect Y/n and treat her like a child forever. I decided I couldn't leave her in the dark any longer. I needed to tell her what happened.

"Cookie, I'm sorry. We should've told you. Steve and the gang was just trying to protect you."

"Hold old was I?" She whispered. I almost didn't hear her.

"You were nine," I said. She didn't deserve it. She was only nine.

"What happened?"

"One day we were walking back home and the socs pulled up to you. They hit you, raped you, and wouldn't let you go. We all heard the scream from our house. Everyone was there. Darry, Steve, Dal, Two, and Johnny. We all ran out the door looking for you. I was the first to find you. There was blood all over you. As everyone else was fighting of the socs and I held you in my arms, you slipped into a coma. I ran you back to the house as fast as I could. Mom and Dad put you and everyone else in the car. We drove to the hospital. They told us you had suffered from a minor concussion, 4 broken ribs, a broken jaw, and a fair amount of blood loss due to the switch blade cuts along your legs and sides. You were in a coma for three months. And for three moths, Steve never left your bedside. None of us slept. Not even Mom or Dad. We were all worried about you. A couple weeks before you woke up, the doctors told us you might not remember what happened. Steve told us to keep it that way. He didn't want you to grow up with that trauma. He still has nightmares about it though."

I looked over at her and she was crying. She quietly got up, looked at me, and ran down the hill. I got up and ran after her. I knew where she was going, and I was going to make sure she made it there safe.

A/N:

Hey guys! I know it's a sad chapter. I decided to put it into two parts so the next part will be out sometime tomorrow. It'll get happier though don't worry! After I finish this, (I'm not finishing it for a while though so don't worry ;) ) I might do a Steve or Darry book. I have good ideas for both, but let me know which one you would prefer! Have a wonderful day!!!
