Monday came around quickly and I found myself sitting in the lecture room listening to the lecturer talk about an upcoming project for us.
We had to pick a local sports team or a uni team and photograph their training sessions and games for a period of time and by the end of it we need to have a portfolio full of photos and a description to go with each photo.
I was quick to raise my hand and ask to be able to photograph the uni's soccer team, thinking this would be the best opportunity to be able to find out the shorter guys name and I did quite enjoy watching the team play on the weekend.
Once I got the approval I walked out of the room with a smile on my face as the lecture had finished and decided I should FaceTime Mum and Gemma.
"Hey H, hey Gemma." Mum waves through the phone as soon as she answers. "How are you both?"
"I'm good Mum, just got out of class actually. I'm heading back to my dorm to get down a few more notes for an upcoming project." I tell her honestly.
"What's the project H?" Gemma asks, smile on her face as she types away on her laptop, probably studying as well. She's doing a designers course and I just know how much she loves it.
"Well, we have to choose a local or uni sports team and photograph their training sessions and games and make a portfolio up." I rush out, trying not to blush at the thought of the short lad I keep seeing everywhere.
"Well, what have you chosen?" Mum questions with her eyebrows raised, waiting for my answer.
"I chose our uni's soccer team. There's a guy on there that I keep literally bumping into and I'm yet to learn his name." I hum, but don't miss the slight smirk on Gemma's face.
"Anyway, enough about me. How are you two going?" I ask, trying to turn all the attention away from myself and before they start a game of twenty questions.
"Well. I've got a project at the moment as well. We have to design something that is used every day so I've chosen sunglasses, now I just have to design some of my own." Gemma says, looking away from her laptop and into her phone.
"That's awesome. Can you design some especially for me please." I pout jokingly although it would be pretty cool for Gemma to design some sunnies for me.
"Maybe on day H." She laughs while shaking her head. "How are you though Mum." She adds on.
"Oh, you know. Nothing really new here but I love hearing about what you two are up to." She smiles a wide smile at us. One that is full of pride which causes Gemma and I both to smile with her.
"Well, I've just gotten back to my dorm so I should probably go and study. Love you both and I'll talk to you soon." I say, blowing them both a kiss before they're waving goodbye and I'm hanging up the phone.
Walking into my room I go straight to my desk and open up my laptop so I can email the soccer teams coach and inform him of my project, hoping that he will give me the ok. I've been told he's let the photography students in the past use his team for their project so I'm hoping I'll get an easy yes.
As I wait for a reply I take my notes book out of my backpack and open up the PowerPoint on my laptop from todays lesson and start writing down any notes that I missed, which wasn't really that many.
Just as I'm finishing the last of my notes I hear Niall walk in talking to someone on the phone which sounds a lot like his parents.
Right before I go to close my laptop I get a notification from my emails and click on it immediately hoping it's from the soccer coach and sure enough it is.
I skim through the email and grin widely when I read the part that him and his team have all agreed that it's ok. The next part of the email is stating that they train Thursday nights at 6:00pm and games are either on a Saturday or sometimes Friday night and that he's more than happy for me to start this Thursday night and use it as an opportunity to meet him and the players.
I quickly reply and thank him and the team for letting me use them as my subject and inform him that I will definitely be there on Thursday and can't wait to meet him and his team.
I head out into the kitchen when I hear Niall saying goodbye to who I'm still assuming was his parents.
"What's the creepy smile for?" He chuckles, looking at me a bit skeptically. I huff in response but tell him about the project anyway and that I can now finally learn this guys names, rather than referring him to him as 'the short guy' or 'number 17.'
"Ohh. So you chose them so you can crush from a closer range. Smart." He laughs as he goes through the fridge looking for something to eat.
"I'm not crushing." I mumble, walking towards the lounge room and turning on the TV once I sit down.
"What was that. I didn't quite catch what you said." Niall teases, smirk planted firmly on his face. There was no wiping that off it was like branded on his face now.
I flip him off, not taking my eyes off the TV and hear him chuckle in response before I heard a mumbled 'that's what I thought.' Before he's retreating down to his room.
~~~
"I am fucking starving." Niall walks out into the lounge room groaning. It was around 6:30pm and although I wasn't too hungry at the moment I should probably eat before it gets any later.
"I should probably eat too. Want to go and grab a pizza from campus or something?" I ask while I put on my shoes that I left at the front door when I got back earlier today.
"I'm honestly down for anything right now, I just need food." He says, grabbing his keys and wallet off the bench as I make my way outside and wait for him at the bottom of the steps.
When he meets me at the bottom we begin our journey on the search for food which didn't take us long to reach the little buffet they have set up.
"Omg. They have pasta." I basically moan, my eyes lighting up like a child on Christmas Day.
"And butter chicken." Niall gasps. He grabs my arm and drags me over to the counter so we can order what we want and decide whether we want to stay here and eat or go back to our dorm.
Once we get our food and decide that we'll sit in to eat we walk to a free table with our trays of food.
"God. This is so good." Niall moans with a mouthful of food. I sit and blink at him then shake my head with a smile on my face before I start eating my own food.
"Holy shit. This actually is really good!" I chuckle as I take another bite of my pasta.
Just as Niall and I finish our meals and stand up to leave a group of really loud people walk in, telling us that it definitely was our queue to leave.
As I step out of the doorway my foot catches on something on the floor and I stumble forwards, trying to balance myself while Niall laughs at me.
"And there you go again." I hear someone say next to me. Looking up from the floor I turn to my left and notice the short guy standing up against the wall, cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
Niall starts laughing even more when he notices my bright red cheeks in the light streaming down from the big lamp above us.
"Aha. Yeah, I really need to learn to watch where I'm walking, or pick my feet up more." I rub the back of my neck in embarrassment. Why do I always have to embarrass myself in front of cute people.
"Mate, it would definitely help." Niall says, covering his mouth to try and stifle his laughter which really wasn't working as I could still hear him.
"You coming in?" The keeper from their soccer team sticks his head out of the doorway towards his teammate.
"Yeah. Just had to finish my cigarette." Number 17 says, walking past us and sending me a wink which sends a hot flush through my body because a simple wink should not be that attractive but when it's aimed at you from someone made by literal gods then I can't help the hot flush.
Niall decides he's going to start teasing me but doesn't get far when I shove him into one of the bushes we are walking past, my turn now to laugh at him as he glares at me but not for long before he's laughing too.
