It had been about five weeks now since Louis had asked me to be his boyfriend and it's the happiest I've been in a long time. Soccer season had finished two weeks ago and that same week I had handed in my portfolio and today I get to see my results for it.
My portfolio photos consisted of a a variety of photos between training sessions, games and the change rooms. I had written detailed descriptions for each photo and also included some written words from the players themselves.
I had spent many hours editing my photos so that they were perfect and many hours constructing and editing each description for each photo and making sure I had put the whole portfolio together in a presentable and eye catching format.
I'm now sitting down in the campus cafe waiting for Louis to join me so we can look at my results together. Just as I take out my phone to message him I feel someone tap me on the shoulder from behind. I jump slightly from being startled and then chuckle once Louis moves into my line of vision.
"Hey baby." He greets, planting a soft gentle kiss to my lips and forehead.
"Hey Lou." I smile warmly back at him as he takes a seat on the other side of the booth.
"How are you feeling about seeing your results?" He asks, looking at me questioningly as he plays with the menu.
"I don't know. I mean, I was happy with my portfolio and I was proud of it but my lecturer might not think so." I say, shrugging my shoulders in doubt. I was really pleased with my final product and I was proud of my work but I just hope all that work truly did pay off.
"I'm sure you passed love, I can't see why you wouldn't. Your portfolio was amazing." Louis says reassuringly which causes me to chuckle a little.
"You're only saying that because you're my boyfriend and you have to say that." I retort, shoving his shin under the table gently.
"Even if I wasn't your boyfriend I would still think it was amazing." He grins, rubbing the bottom of his shoe on the top of mine.
"I guess here goes nothing then." I say, taking out my phone and opening up my emails to find my results.
I take my time, knowing that Louis wouldn't rush me and will let me do it in my own time. I close my eyes briefly, taking in a small breath and feel Louis rest his hand on top of mine that isn't holding my phone and using his thumb to stroke the top of my hand gently, calming me down immensely.
I click on the email that I had my finger hovering over and slowly open my eyes, letting them adjust as I skim through the first half of the email which wasn't important.
I finally get to the end of the page where my results are sitting there, staring at me. My eyes go wide and my eyebrows shoot to the top of my head.
"What is it love? Did you pass?" I hear Louis question me. I couldn't take my eyes off my results for what felt like forever.
"I did it. I actually passed!" I beamed brightly. Smile taking over my face and dimples on full display for everyone to see.
"See. I told you that you would pass baby. I'm so proud of you." Louis says, standing up and walking over to me he grabs my face gently with his hands and kisses me slow and passionately, our mouths moving together in perfect sync.
"I'm so proud of you baby." He whispers against my lips before he's slowly pulling away and stroking my cheeks gently with his thumbs.
"Thank you baby." I whisper back, not able to take my eyes away from his as we study each other's faces for a moment.
"What do we say, celebratory pancakes?" He asks, pecking my lips once more before he goes and sits back down.
"Sounds perfect to me." I chuckle, turning my phone back on and letting Louis know that I was just telling Gemma and Mum that I had passed my first assignment.
