It was finally Saturday and our uni's soccer team had a home game today so Niall and I decided that we would go and watch, giving us a break from study.

"Come on. Let's go, we'll miss it otherwise." I huff. The more time we spend together during the week the closer we had gotten. It's quite hard to not like Niall, he just loves life and radiates positivity wherever he goes.

"Alright. Alright, I'm coming." He laughs as he grabs his sunnies from his room and meets me in the kitchen. "Ok, let's go." He says, making his way out the door and down the stairs.

"I don't actually know anyone that plays in this team but I thought it would be a fun little adventure." I say as we make our way across the grass and towards the pitch, looking for somewhere to sit.

"I don't either, but we're sure about to find out." Niall says, nodding in the direction of the two teams walking around, ready to start their warm up.

We both sit and try to take in the players from both teams when my eyes land on the keeper, noticing that he looks so familiar but I can't put my finger on it until I'm shifting my gaze to the person standing next to him, my jaw dropping in shock.

"What is it mate." Niall laughs from next to me, following my gaze until his eyes are landing on the two people I've got my eyes locked in on.

"Ohhh. So that's why you wanted to come." He laughs again, slapping me slightly on the shoulder. "You could've just told me." He clutches his stomach.

I'd been reporting back to Niall about my encounters with this guy and his friends and Niall being Niall thought it was so amusing and teased me about it like we were two teenagers in high schoolers.

"Oh god no. I didn't even know he plays and I don't even know who he is. He just always seems to be there when I decide I haven't embarrassed myself in a long time." I groan, tearing my gaze off of him as the ref blows the whistle, signaling that the game is about to start.

It's then that I realize the keeper is number 17's friend that I always see him with and when I look down the line I notice his other friend with the quiff standing and watching, clearly not a player on the team.

The whistle for half time goes and the score is 2-0 to 17's team, which I also realized he is the captain as I spotted the captains band around his arm during the first fifteen minutes of the game.

"God I'm so hungry." Niall groans, flopping onto his back dramatically. Half time has only just started so he has plenty of time to go and get something to eat.

"They have the canteen open over there if you want to go get something." I point in the direction of the canteen that's behind us and Niall's eyes light up like a child that's been given free reign in a lolly shop.

"Thank the lord. You want anything?" He bounces up onto his feet, looking down at me while I squint up at him, trying to block out the sun that's peeking through the clouds.

"Um, I should be ok thanks." I smile up at him then turn on my phone to reply to a few messages while I wait for him to come back and for the game to start again.

Just as Niall returns with chips and a drink in his hands the whistle blows to indicate the start of the second half so I turn off my phone and put my full attention on the game in front of me.

The second half was a lot more entertaining with the other team scoring in the first 20 minutes but not long after we end up scoring again. The game finishing with a 3-1 win to us.

"Kinda in need of a drink. Want to go to the pub a little later?" I ask Niall as I stand up and we make our way back across the grass.

"Yeah, I'm in but I'm not having a late one." He says as he turns to look at me briefly. I quickly pull him out of the way of the pole that he was approaching and he gives me a small smile when he realizes what was just about to happen.

"I don't want a late one either, probably just have a couple." I reply as we head up the stairs towards our dorm. "What do we say about 5:30?" I question as we make our way inside.

"Sounds good to me." He nods as he heads into the kitchen to look in the fridge for something to eat as I make my way down the hallway to my bedroom.

Sooner than I expected it was 5:30 and Niall and I were heading back out the door towards the pub. I had gone with black skinny jeans and a long sleeved yellow shirt and decided to leave my hair down.

"So. What's with the long curly hair?" Niall questions halfway there.

"I just didn't cut it for ages and I had always been too shy to grow it out in fear of what people would think but during my gap year I decided to just let it loose and grow it out, I kinda like it though." I answer honestly, a smile taking over my face.

"You really suit it. I like it." Niall nods in approval as I thank him, smile still plastered on my face. I like getting compliments on my hair as I was never too sure about growing it out.

"What's with the died blonde hair." I asked curiously. I had actually been wondering why it was died but it hadn't come up in conversation and I didn't really know how to bring such a thing up.

"Well it started as a dare from one of my mates but I actually quite liked it so I just kept dying it, I'm a natural brunette if you couldn't tell by the roots." He laughed while smiling.

"No, couldn't tell at all." I state sarcastically. "Although, you do really suit the blonde."

"Thanks man." He replies as we reach the pub and step inside making our way over to the bar so we can order.

Once we receive our orders we walk outside to find a table to sit at and I feel someone bump into me as they step back but I had no time to react to try and move out of the way.

"Shit, Sorry man. Did not mean that at all." The guy says, I slowly turn around about to tell him that it was fine and there was no harm done but stop in my tracks when I realize who it is.

"Oh god, we really need to stop meeting like this." He laughs a breathy laugh but smiles up at me anyway. I never realized how small he actually was up until this point of him standing so close to me.

As if on cue we both take a step back when we realize how close we actually are. I take in his features once again, his face must've been chiseled by the gods because no one looks that good with little to no effort.

"All good." I laugh. "I'm just glad it was someone else's fault for once and not mine." I smile, looking around to try and see where Niall had ended up.

Finally spotting him sitting in the far corner, I send the shorter guy another smile and head back over to Niall.

"Oh I so saw that look on both of your faces." He chuckles as I sit down in the chair opposite him. I take a big gulp of my drink before answering.

"What look?" I raise my eyebrow, not taking my eyes off of Niall.

"There is so something happening between you two but I don't think either of you are aware yet." He smiles over the top of his glass that he's lifting to his lips.

"Nothing happening, nothing to look at. Don't even know him." I blush, my gaze quickly going back to the group as they get louder and louder and it's only now that I realize he's here with his soccer team.

~~~
"Niall. I swear we didn't plan on staying this long or getting this tipsy." I laugh, slightly stumbling as we made our way out of the pub.
Outside the door was the whole soccer team and somehow I manage to see him first, our eyes locking on each other briefly before he sends me a small smile and turns back to his team. My cheeks tinting pink as I duck my head trying not to show the blush on my face.
I turn around and slightly jog to catch up to Niall who was walking like he was on a mission, I'm just thankful I have long legs to be able to catch up to him quickly.
The walk back to our dorm took a little longer than what it should have so I'm definitely blaming the alcohol. Soon enough though I was falling onto my bed ready for sleep to take over my body.
