Sunday rolled around quicker than I expected and before I knew it I was opening the front door to Louis standing there, looking as perfect as ever with a single rose in his hands.
"I um, I picked it for you on my way over." He smiles nervously, his eyes not completely meeting mine.
"Thank you Lou, that's so sweet of you." I answer shyly, my cheeks already turning a light shade of pink.
I quickly run to the kitchen and fill up a small vase to put the flower in and then I'm joining Louis at the front door again. I shout out a quick goodbye to Niall, not really sure if he was awake yet or not and then I was locking the door behind me before we headed down the stairs.
"So. What have you got planned?" I asked him when we got to the bottom of the staircase.
"Well, I thought we could start the day with a coffee at the cafe." He says, a bit of unsureness in his voice. It was nice to know that he was just as nervous as I am.
"Sounds perfect to me." I beam, a bright smile making its way onto my face. Todays going to be a good day, I just know it.
"What would you like?" Louis asks me when we walked into the cafe.
"Um, I might just get a black coffee but I can get my own." I protest, feeling bad that he wants to pay even though we are on a date and he's the one that asked to take me on this date.
"It's ok. I insist." He reassures me before he's turning to the lady standing behind the counter.
"Can I please get one black coffee, a Yorkshire tea and a slice of your chocolate cake please." He smiles at her as he takes his wallet out of his back pocket so he can pay.
We go and find a booth in the far corner to sit at, both of us settling into our seats.
"Thank you Lou, you really didn't have to pay for me." I say when I get comfortable in my seat.
"I wanted to love. I brought you on this date so I'll pay." He says honestly, his eyes focusing in on mine, neither of us wanting to look away.
The waitress came over with our food and drinks, both of us nodding and thanking her before she smiles at us, turning on her feet and walking away.
"So. What else do you have in store for us today." I raise my eyebrow at him over the mug of coffee that I had brought up to my lips.
"Wouldn't you like to know." He smirks at me, grabbing a fork and taking some of the cake that's sat on the table in between us.
"Yes, I would actually. That's why I asked." I hummed thoughtfully, lowering my mug back onto the table and taking a little bit of cake.
"It's a surprised. So no, I can't tell you." He chuckles, placing his hand palm up on the table. I hesitate for a moment before I lift my hand up and place it in his.
His hands are so much smaller than mine but there's so much warmth pouring out from them and it's such a comforting feeling, I could so get used to this.
We talk and laugh a lot while we have our drinks and eat our cake, sometimes a silence falls between us but never an awkward silence. It's a silence I can sit through and still be enjoying his company.
Once we've finished our drinks and cake and sat talking we realized it was getting closer to lunch time and decided to leave.
"Do you fancy ice-cream for lunch?" He asks, standing up and holding out his hand to help me out of the booth.
"Omg. Yes, who could ever deny ice-cream for lunch." I beam, taking a hold of his hand so he can help me.
"To the ice-cream shop we go then." He laughs, never dropping my hand.
