"I'm here, since you guys refused to invite me" she heard a loud voice from the entrance door which belonged to no one other than Hadiza.
"Babyyyyy!" she shouted back from the kitchen. She could hear the shuffling of her feet as she moved towards the kitchen.
Hadiza stood at the entrance of the kitchen looking confused as she stared at Aysha. She was a sight to be seen, the apron she wore over her tank top and sweat pants, was covered with flour and chocolate, the work island was completely covered with different ingredients needed for a dessert.
"What are you doing?" She asked, chuckling.
"This is the second batch of cookies that didn't come out right" she said pointing to the baking tray that had cookies on, the cookies were in an awkward shape and didn't look like cookies at all and they were too hard too.
"You know what? Why don't you go clean up and let the professional handle it" Hadiza teased steering her out of the kitchen.
"Yes, whatever" she shrugged her off, removing her apron as she headed upstairs. She took a quick shower changing into a blouse and a ball skirt that stopped beneath her knees, its not like she was going anywhere and they were the only ones at home.
She rushed down the stairs to the kitchen just as Hadiza popped the cookies in the oven. Together, they cleaned up the mess she made in the kitchen while having fun and sharing stories.
"So what was that you were saying about how we refused to invite you?" Aysha asked as they sat on the high stools waiting on the cookies.
"Oh that, your husband was being rude to me the last time I came around that's why I didn't come again, you were supposed to invite me over and pacify me. So much for being best friends" Aysha silently laughed, she was such a drama queen.
"When did that happen? Because I don't remember you coming to this house ever" she rolled her eyes turning to her.
"Of course you wouldn't know, when your husband was busy playing overprotective" she said mimicking what he said the last time she came.
"He really said that?" Aysha asked as she doubled over laughing, even though it warmed her heart at how sweet he was.
"Yes and I still haven't heard an apology" she stood up from her stool going to the oven to extract the freshly baked cookies, leaving them to cool, she went back to her stool.
"OK, we're sorry" she said with an amused expression.
"You and who are sorry?" She heard a voice behind her making her jump. She turned around and Fahad was standing by the entrance door. It was a Saturday and so he went to play football, he does that on the weekend, sometimes. He was looking all so sweaty but hot at the same time, he came closer hugging her from behind and then he placed a chaste kiss by her jaw. At that moment she didn't care that he was sweaty or that she just got ready, just the feeling she got at that moment, the feeling of warmth and completeness. Hadiza coughed from beside them, they all turned to her as she turned her face away while crossing her arms.
"Hey sister" he greeted her with a kiss to her cheek while she blatantly ignored him. He walked to the fridge, opening the door he brought out a carton of juice.
"What's up with her?" He asked Aysha as he gulped down the orange juice straight from the carton, making her cringe.
"You know that's where a cup comes in handy" she told him gesturing to the juice he was gulping down. "Oh, and she's angry because of what you did to her the last time she came over" she said answering his question.
