"Yes, a war," Ellie stated. After yesterday's serious tone and learning about the Forrow tree, Eleanora went straight to her dorm to sleep. She passed out at five and woke up the next day at four in the morning.
Margaux re-tied her long boots, finishing and tucking her curly hair behind her pierced ear.
"So, what even possessed the humans to try and turn us non-magical? Just because we haven't invented anything to help humans gain magic does not give them the right to take ours away." She was fuming, running her finger in her hair to soothe her nerves.
"Honestly I don't know. Mr. Kane was talking about the magical Forrow tree in the middle of our crazy maze forest. And that the humans got sap from the Forrow tree and mixed it with something like an herb that's crazy poisonous." Eleanora too started to fiddle with her fingers to control wandering thoughts.
Margaux held her hand to her mouth and focused on the garden around us.
"I hope there's a cure for this. . ." she mumbled.
The birds chirped along with a few sirens who were practicing pieces for their choir period.
"'Sup bitches!" The group's third musketeer trotted over, from what Eleanora guessed was her alchemy class. She was covered in colored chalk. "I figured out what dress I'm going to wear for the Magical Ball!"
"Is it your birthday suit? Because your birthday is close to the ball." Margaux stated.
"That's rude of you to assume. I'm not Leaven!" Julia pushed her hair behind her shoulder and showed us a 3d version on her illucon. It was a green, elegant gown that was decorated with tiny golden embroidery. "This! Y'all I will never show off the goodies for free." She shook her head before taking her backpack off to sit on the ground and sat on the bench next to the two.
"Margaux has anyone asked you?" Julia questioned.
"It depends on if you think a wood chip shifting into flowers is a way of asking then, I suppose so. ."
"Ooh, Crafty!"
"I know! As it unraveled itself into my lap it popped out fireworks that held the figure of a question mark."
"Just a question mark?" The witch chimed in. "He must be really confident to not ask the question but to just illustrate a question mark."
Margaux smiled at her lap, adjusting her shirt to be more comfortable.
"Do you have a color scheme for the ball?" Julia continued with Margaux.
"More than likely purple. Purple and brown so I don't have to do anything with my nails. This nail polish that you gave me is doing crazy well, Jules." Margaux referred to her hands.
Julia nodded vigorously, "I enjoy this artist because she was not lying about the nail polish lasting a whole month!"
Julia looked down at her phone and smiled, turning it to me. "Oh! I have to go be study buddies with Maximus!" She was buzzing with how ecstatic she was.
Eleanora's eyebrows raised, "Really? Is that just the term you throw around to "be" with him?"
Margaux coughed, "On him."
She scoffed. "Anyways, Maximus was asking if I could help him study for this next Herbology exam coming up. So we are tonight and tomorrow night!"
"Has he asked you to the dance?" Ellie wiggled her eyebrows as Julia started becoming more interested in her illucon.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." She ignored us and started scrolling on her illucon.
"I'll take that as a not yet." Margaux laughed and crossed her arms across her chest. She then turned to Eleanora, "Now when do you think Mr. Vampire Prince will ask you to be his date?" She shimmied her shoulders against the witch's. Julia looked over as well, smiling wide.
