4: Research The Target

3rd person pov:

As Hawks is being treated at the hospital. Touya sits by his side in worry. Not wanting to leave his side. Yet in the back of his mind. He invisions burning those that hurt Hawks to ash.

Touya:"If anything were to happen to you. I wouldn't know what to do anymore."

Touya brushes a hand through Hawks hair and kisses his forehead.

Meanwhile, enji is in the same hospital, but two floors below. He's sitting in a bed with an oxygen mask on. That's when he gets a knock at the door. It's his doctor.

Enji:"So what's the news?"

Doc:"I wish I knew. You see, your scans came up mostly clear."

Enji:"Mostly?"

Doc:"Someone has used a quirk That's parasitic. Unless you find who did it. There's no reversing the effect. We don't even know what it'll do to you. My recommendation is to stay here under observation."

Enji:"What happened to the child?"

Doc:"His condition isn't great. He's in a coma from the same thing that has you. We're doing our best to keep him alive."

Enji grips his chest tight.

Enji:"How much time do I have?"

Doc:"A few weeks at most. I'm sorry that we can't do more."

The doctor steps out and enji begins to cry at the thought of leaving his family.

Then he gets a call at the same time touya gets a text.

Aizawa:<The group you apprehended was found dead in the back of the van with vines coming out of every hole. The big guy even had his stomach explode with roots.>

Touya looks at the images in horror.

Tou:"Who could've done this?"

Enji gets the news aswell and asks a nurse for his laptop o start research, but not before calling recovery girl.

Enji:"I need your help. Get Hawks back up on his feet. I need someone that can help me without getting caught."

Hours pass, and touya has fallen asleep beside hawks bed. That's when recovery girl knocks and enters to see Hawks awake rubbing Touya's back.

Rec:"I'm here to help you get better. You see Endeavor has requested your help."

Haw:"Why doesn't he ask enferno?"

Rec:"He can't help because he's their target."

Hawks nods and recovery girl uses her quirk to help speed up his healing process.

Rec:"By tomorrow afternoon. You should be ready to leave."

Haw:"Thanks recovery girl."

With a nod. She leaves the room.

Haw:"How long have you been listening in?"

Tou:"Enough to know that this is dangerous. Please be careful. If there's any sign of trouble. I want you to leave and request backup."

Haw:"I'll be careful, I promise."

Touya stands up.

Tou:"I'm heading up for a smoke. Be back in ten minutes."

Haw:"I keep telling you to stop. Yet you never listen..... I'll let it slide this once."

Touya smiles and walks towards the elevator. Only to see a girl in a room by herself looking out of the window while crying. She looks to be about thirteen years old.

Touya doesn't think much of it as he heads up to smoke on the roof. As he looks up at the sky. All he can see is the light pollution of the city below.

Tou:"Damn, tonight would be a clear night for star gazing."

As he takes a hit off his cigarette. The room door opens, and it's the same little girl with a paper and pencil in hand. She writes a letter on one side and on the other is a drawing of planets and stars. So touya puts out the cigarette and goes to head back in, but just as he reaches for the doorknob. He hears the safety fence rattle. Touya looks back to see her trying to climb up the fence. So he rushes over and pulls her down.

Tou:"What the hell do you think you're doing!? Don't you know you can fall and die if you were to get on the other side?!"

The girl looks up at him with hollow eyes.

Girl:"I want to be with my parents and baby brother again. You see, we were going on vacation when the accident happened. It was our first time going out of the city, and I was looking forward to seeing the stars. Now I'm stuck here because the accident helped doctors find a tumor on my spine. I...... I just wanna see the stars with my family!"

The little girl starts crying and clings to Touya's shirt.

Tou:"If you promise me that you won't try to die again. I'll show you some stars someday. Does that sound like a plan?"

The girl smiles and eyes glimmer with hope as she nods in agreement. So touya walks her back to her room. Then he heads downstairs to the giftshop and buys about thirty teddybears to hand out. Giving the little girl one with a star on its belly. Then as he gets to the last room. He sees a little boy that's coding. As nurses try to revive the child. Touya waits outside of the room by the double doors that separate child's hospital from adults. Then they call the time of death and walk out of the room. So touya sets down the bear with angel wings by his bedside. Not knowing it's the kid that enji brought in.

Tou:"I wish you best of luck on the journey ahead of you little one."

As touya walks away. The boy's hand grabs his wrist as a deep voice calls out to him.

"You shouldn't be here. Things are wrong."

Touya gets a vision of himself surrounded in blue flames with hawks, shoto, and enji dead by his feet and blood on his scarred up hands. Only to panic and run out of the room. Looking at his hands and arms in search of burns. Only to see his clear healthy skin. When touya returns to the room. He plants his head on Hawks lap. While the winged hero reads on his phone. Starting to work with enji to solve the mystery.

Hawks massages Touya's head until he falls asleep.
