11: Time Draws Near

3rd person pov:

Hawks mind is trapped in memories of the past. He remembers the time where he took touya up on his offer to team up. So Hawks calls him.

Haw:"Hey, enferno? When's a good time to meet up?"

Tou:"Now would be great, actually I was about to call you  for assistance."

Haw:"Where are you at?"

Touya gives Hawks the address and when the winged hero arrives. He sees that Touya's office is in the building where Endeavor's HQ is.

After asking the lady at the from desk. Hawks is guided to Touya's office.  The moment Hawks enters. He sees that touya is frustrated.

Haw:"Enferno?"

Tou:"I need your help with something."

Hawks walks closer and touya throws a can towards Hawks.

Tou:"Will this help you out?"

Hawks catches the can and reads what's inside.

haw:"Wait, this is flame resistance spray."

Tou:"My main concern as a fire hero is everyone's safety. Even partners' health and well-being. With your help, we can be the perfect team for any mission. I know my dad wants me to surpass all might, but being a hero isn't about rank. It's about saving lives."

Hawks eyes widen in surprise that touya isn't like most heroes. His chest tightens and stomach aches as he blushes slightly. So Hawks hides his face in his coat.

Touya looks down at the papers on his desk that have different plans of action for different scenarios.

After Hawks takes a moment to calm down. He sits across from touya to help him plan.

Haw:"Let me test the spray on a few feathers. If it does weigh them down. We might have to coat them in a power form. Then, if your flames get too bad. I may help to keep them under control with a flap of my wings."

Tou:"Like a fire extinguisher bomb!"

Touya's excitement brings a smile to hawks face. They spend days at the office figuring ways they can use one another in combat. Planning for different plans of attack and key phrases to send code in battle. Both passing out at the office and taking turns using the in office shower to bathe. As touya has a closet full of clean clothes that they both can use.

One day, Hawks gets out of the shower and sees that touya has earbuds in and is listening to music. So Hawks walks over, and touya offers a bud.

Tou:"Wanna listen in? This group is amazing."

Hawks picks it up, and he realizes that he has to sit beside touya. Hawks blushes and sees touya smirking. Hawks then sees that touya offers his hand to hold.

Haw:"T...touya?"

Tou:"It's up to you. If you choose not to. We'll just continue as friends. It's better to get this out of the way early. It'll be better than letting it fester for long. That's how problems start."

Hawks takes Touya's hand, and the flame hero is surprised. As it was only a hunch he had that Hawks liked him.

Haw:"Let's go on an official date to see how our chemistry is and go from there."

Tou:"You plan, and I'll follow your lead."

That night, both went out to eat for coffee. Then after a week. They went out to see a movie. It was an action film, and touya gets so emotionally invested that he stands up and yells at how stupid the hero in the film is acting. So Hawks holds his hand to calm touya down. When the kissing scene happens. Touya looks over, and his gaze is met with Hawks. Both move in close and kiss while embracing one another. After the movie ends. Hawks flys touya to his house. Both enjoy the night view of the city lights. Once they arrive at Touya's house. Hawks kisses touya again before slowly letting Touya's hands go as he flies off. Touya wanted to reach out and ask him to stay, but he didn't feel right rushing what they had going. So the next day they meet at the office. After a long day's work. Hawks goes to leave. Only for touya to grab his hand.
