3rd person pov:

Haw:^I haven't seen touya this upset before. Maybe a vacation will do him some good.^

Hawks texts enji.

Haw<Hey, so about the mystery of who's after touya. I'm gonna have to put a pause for at least a day or two. I'm sure you can handle it while we're on vacation.>

Enji takes a moment to respond.

Enji<All three of us can't be off of work at the same time. Otherwise the public might panic.>

Haw<wait why are you off work? Did something happen?>

Enji<Don't tell touya, but I'm in the same hospital as you. I got hit with a quirk that has my life on a timer unless we find who's responsible for the attack on you and my son.>

Haw:<I'll keep searching, but touya needs a break. He's only human after all, and I think the stress of work is getting to him.>

Enji:<I'll tell jeanist to make up a cover story for us. That way you can protect touya.>

Haw:<Thanks. I'll delete this text so he doesn't find out.>

Enji:<best of luck to you both.>

As enji sets his phone down. He lifts his shirt to look at his chest.  That's when he sees hair thin lines like a root system has spread.

Enji:" I have less time than originally thought."

Enji starts looking up any past cases like this one. Only to discover that the reports of people dying from plant like deaths have been happening for the past six years, and every one that has been effected has one thing in common.

Enji:"Holy shit. There's no way. I have to find out if this is right."

As enji stands up. A nurse walks in to check on him.

Nur:"Sir, please get back in bed. You aren't supposed to get up without someone to help you.

As enji puts weight on his legs. His knees buckle. That's when he sees the root system has actually been growing from his feet up.

Enji:^If these are the roots. Then my chest has branches.^

The nurse picks enji up and helps him back in bed. As he's too weak to fight her.

Enji:"How long have you known i was this bad off?"

Nur:"Since you arrived we knew from other patients we've treated, and all have tried to run away in their last hours."

The nurse stays by enji's side all night. Then in the morning. Rai, shoto, natsuo, and fuyumi are called in to visit.

Meanwhile touya wakes up under blankets. As Hawks gets dressed.

Touya sits up and realizes that he's been laid down in the hospital bed.

Haw:"Well good morning sleepy head. Are you ready?"

Tou:"For what?"

Haw:"We're going on vacation today. We'll sort of. I'll be working on my phone while we're away."

As Hawks mutters on about possible vacation spots like the beach, or mountains. Touya checks his phone.

When hawks looks over at touya. He sees a face that concerns him.

Haw:"What is it babe?"

Tou:"It's natsu. He said dad is in the hospital."

Haw:"Shit, well at least he can't blame me for telling you."

Tou:"Wait you knew?"

Haw:"Look you shouldn't go see him. He asked me to keep it a secret from you to protect you."

Tou:"Well now I have to go. That way I can give him a piece of my mind."

Touya stomps out of the room and runs down the hall. Running through the children's wing to the only set of elevators. All awhile Hawks gives chase.

The little girl is eating breakfast and hugging the teddybear when she sees touya run by.

Haw:"Wait up touya!"

The girl only gets a glance, but she can tell by the wings who Hawks is.

Girl:"Wait that's pro hero hawks. So that must mean that the man who saved me yesterday was...... enferno."

She gets giddy with joy and hugs the bear tighter.

Touya steps into the elevator as it's about to shut. Delaying Hawks from stopping him.

When he gets to the floor. Touya slides in and opens the door.

Tou:"I came as soon as I heard. What's going on?"

Enji looks out of the window and natsu is looking down.

Nat:"Sorry, I didn't know."

Tou:"Don't blame yourself. He's a stubborn old man. Who doesn't understand that family sticks together-"

A food tray passes by Touya's head and hits the wall.

Enji:"it was a mistake to train you. I never want to see you again. You aren't my son. You're a freak of nature."

Natsu:"That's uncalled for! He only wants to help like the rest of us because he lo-"

Tou:"That's enough natsu."

Nat:"But he shouldn't have."

Tou:"I know what you're trying to do. You're hoping I'll storm off so you can protect me. Is that right? Well fuck you! I'll beat the son of a bitch that did this to you and prove that I don't need your God damn help!"

Touya turns his back to everyone and opens the door.

Tou:"Just watch and you'll see."

As the door closes behind touya. Enji begins to cry.

Enji:"You damn foolish child. You'll only get yourself killed."

Enji grips his right wrist as he trembles.

Enji:"Natsu, can you leave me alone for awhile? I need some rest."

Natsuo nods and stands to leave the room.

Nat:"Have faith in touya. If anyone can stop this, it's him."

As Hawks runs up to touya. He sees tears trickling down Touya's face.

Haw:"Babe?"

Hawks wipes the tears away and holds Touya's hands.

Tou:"Let's go. We got a case to solve."
