there was a knock on the door.
"hey calum. come on in." i said opening the door.
"thanks." he said walking in.
i went on my couch and he sat next to me. "so how do you interpret the meaning of life?" i turned to face him.
we had been working on a project for an hour when calum said, "wanna take a break?"
"yeah." i nodded. "so how's the band?"
"pretty good. we're going on tour with one direction this summer."
"that's pretty cool. i wish i could go on tour. then i'd finally be able to get out of this deadbeat town because its only here just to bring me down."
"do you play music?"
"i dabble in guitar and piano. i'm much better at writing songs though."
"writing music is pretty fun."
"yeah. especially since inspiration is everywhere."
"do you have any songs written?"
"well i have a few and i'm currently trying to write one but i only have a few lines."
"can i hear it?"
"yeah sure. this stays between us though. no one can hear it."
"okay. i promise not to tell anyone."
i walked to go grab my song book. that's sounds kinda girly. its more of a journal where i write my thoughts. ooh i'll call it my thought journal! that sounds so much better.
"all i have so far is:
let's get out, let's get out cause this deadbeat town's only here just to keep us down. while I was out, I found myself alone just thinking.
and:
simmer down, simmer down they say we're too young now to amount to anything else. but look around we work too damn hard for this just to give it up now. if you don't swim, you'll drown but don't move, honey."
"oh my gosh that's amazing!"
"thanks." i smiled shyly.
"can i help you finish it?"
"yeah of course."
we worked on the song until we finished which was at like 11PM.
"this is so good." i said getting excited.
"i know! you're really talented kacie."
"thanks calum. you are too."
"so who inspired you in this song? because what you've written is obviously about a girl!"
"well now that's a secret."
"c'mon i won't tell anyone."
"i'll give you a hint. i've known her all my life, but i don't think she remembered me until today."
"oh my gosh. you've liked the same girl all your life?"
"pretty much."
"you need to go for it man. she'd be stupid to turn you down!"
"thanks kacie."
"call me kac."
"okay kac. well i better get going. let me know when you wanna work on the project agian."
"okay. wanna work on it tomorrow? then we can just get it out of the way."
"well i have band practice at my house tomorrow. so you wanna just work on it there?"
"yeah cool. then i can here you guys play too."
"would you mind if played them the song we wrote?"
"yeah that'd be fine. it'd be cool to hear you play it."
we both stood up and walked to the front door.
"see ya tomorrow. you can come over at like six."
"okay cool. bye." i hugged him then closed the door. i wonder who the girl is. i'll find out though. even if i have to ask his friends.~~~
A/N:
yes the song they wrote was none other than she looks so perfect. just thought i'd clarify this for anyone was confused by that! hope you guys like the story so far :-)
