I woke up with a crazy headache, something a little Advil will fix, i looked over to my nightstand and grabbed some and got up to get some water. I headed downstairs and into the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water and filled it up with some ice and water. I took my pills and heard my phone go off as I picked it up.
"Good morning beautiful!" -max.
I replied with something simple "hey" How did you sleep last night?" He said.
but I didn't reply.
I went to play some music so I could start cooking a breakfast.
"Maggie?"
I heard Jack say from the couch.
"Jack?" I said as I walked around the island and into the living room and kneeled down next to him as he was laying on the couch, I placed the back of my hand on his forehead to still see if he had a fever.
"god Jack you're burning up." I said as I got up to grab a water to give to him with some medicine to help his fever. I began to make eggs with toast and a smoothie, I also made some for Jack as well. I set his food on the coffee table and grabbed a small trash can to set next to him and a ice pack he can put on his head after. I sat down too eat and began to look at social media.
"I was wondering if you wanted to get some coffee together later" -max
"sorry I was cooking, uh what time?"
"does 2 fit on you're schedule?" -max
"Yea" I replied.
"okay see ya them."
After I ate I cleaned up the kitchen and got in the shower. "MAGGIE!!" I heard Jack say from the outside of my bathroom door. "YES" I said
"CAN I USE YOUR CHARGER" he yelled. "YEAA" I said.
"HEYY CAN YOU CHANGE THIS SONG" only because I left my phone on my bed. "YEA WHATS THE PASSWORD" "0716" I said.
"WHOS MAX? wait." Jack yelled. "JACK CHANGE THE SONG NOT GO THROUGH MY PHONE"
"Yea forget about it sorry thought he texted you" he said
"OH" I said as I heard him close my bedroom door, I turned the water off and dried off, I walked into my closet and picked out my outfit, I put on blue lulu leggings and white top and a grey North Carolina athletics hoodie with white socks and Uggs
I put my hair in a bun and began to do my makeup! I just did the same thing I do light makeup and put some diamond earrings in and packed my purse. Cash, roll on perfume, gum and a clip for my hair!
- doorbell rings -
"who's here?" Jack said from the upstairs living room.
"No one I gotta go, be safe" I said as I walked down the stairs passing him in the living room upstairs.
"maggie who's here" Jack said getting up and grabbing my arm gently, pulling me close to him.
god his eyes.
"jack" I said.
I walked out of the living room and to my front door.
"max!" I said. "Hey" He said kissing my hand, he lead me to his car where he opened to door for me to get in.
As time passed he dropped me off at home and he headed home. Luke texted me not to long ago to see if I could go to dinner with the hughes, which of course I said yes. I walked into my room and placed my things down and jumped onto my bed. I needed to call Jack, I feel like this entire time I've been pushing him away and I can't do that it's Jack, someone I can tell anything to. The call went on until It went to voicemail.
I hope he's ok, he doesn't have practice today?
to make myself not overthink about anything I went into my closet to pick out my outfit for dinner. I picked out black lulu leggings a white Nike dry fit zip up, white socks and Uggs. for my jewelry I picked out gold earrings and a matching necklace. I touched up my makeup and fixed my hair up and put my outfit on. I grabbed my things and headed over to jacks house! I knocked at the door when Ellen opened the door and greeted me with a hug! "How are you beautiful!!" She said.
"hii, I'm doing good!! How about you"
"Ahh just cooking dealing with these boys" she said letting me in and headed to the kitchen, I set my things down and walked in the basement where loud music was blaring.
"Ahh miss cowden has arrived" Quinn said as I gave him a light smile.
Trevor,cole,drew,ty,Joel,Patrick,Gavin literally everyone jack plays hockey with.
"hey Quinn!" I said as I gave him a hug.
"hey mags, you know everyone here right?" He asked. "Yea" I replied. "Hey do you know where Luke is?" I asked. "He should be back he's with dad getting some stuff at the store mom forgot" he said. "Ohhh, we'll im gonna go talk to Ellen see ya!" I said. I walked upstairs and into the kitchen to grab my bag and looked around for Ellen, she must be using the bathroom so I headed upstairs. "yea?" Jack said in a raspy voice as I knocked on his door. "Hey Jack, are you feeling ok" I said as I walked in. "Does it look like it?" He replied. "I'll take that as a no, we'll I hope you feel better soon and I hope you attitude changes with it" I said as I walked out of his room and into the upstairs living room. I don't understand what I did to him but ever since last night he's been acting like a complete bitch.
It was a bitch move of me last night to push him to the side for max, thinking about it makes me want to go back in time and change everything that happened, I mean I enjoyed last night with max but I hate Jack and I being mad at each other. "GUYS DINNER" Ellen and Jim yelled as I saw luke walk up the stairs. "Oh hey mags! How are you" He said. "I'm doing okay how about you?" I replied. "Im doing good!" "That's amazing!" I said as I got up and walked downstairs and fluffed Luke's hair. I said hi to jim and Ellen and grabbed a plate. "hey" Trevor said as he turned around. "hi!"
"Ladies first!" He said making room for me to go in-front of him. "Thank you Trevor!" I said. "Of course anything for you!" He said. I made my plate and took a seat at the dinner table with Ellen,Jim and some of the other boys. Jack walked downstairs and as he headed over to the kitchen we connected eyes, not good eyes though he was pissed, i was pissed but played it off for everyone else. as everyone took a seat and started eating and talking jim asked me a question. "Hey mags so how was your party last night!?" "Oh it was really good I had a lot of fun!!" I replied. "Yeah with max" Jack whispered loud enough so people could hear. he wasn't even eating his food he was just looking at his plate twisting the pasta around his fork. "we'll hows hockey guys?" I said to everyone. "Good!" Everyone said "Good how about your hockey?" Trevor said as he leaned over to me. "It's good! Thank you for asking" "hey can I ask you a quick question" i whispered to him while everyone was talking. "Yea, hit me" he said. "Did I do something to Jack I mean I hate when me and him are mad at each other I just wish he would talk to me" i whispered into his ear. "I need to tell you something you can't tell anyone" he said. "Pinky promise I won't." I said. "Jack is my best friend and last night he planned to have a great night with you, you know? He set up games that he knew you liked and made sure he made your favorite food and drinks and when you and max walked upstairs Jack watched y'all walk upstairs and into his room. When you guys took long to come back down he new what y'all where doing, I mean it's obvious, sorry. but today when he saw he texted you he wasn't lying max texted you and said "can't wait to see you beautiful I'll be there in 40, and Jack hide the fact that he knows y'all have something. ether friends with benefits or bf and gf but on the low" he said. "I completely understand, I hope you know me and max didn't do anything like that, I mean yea we went on a date and went to his room to talk but it's not like it's like that. And Jack, he's one of my best friends but I don't understand him. He was just talking to Jessica and know he's mad at me for talking to a guy." "Maggie he doesn't want you to get hurt, max might seem like a great and sweet guy but he's not what you think Maggie." He said. I looked around wondering why he said that. Everyone started to get up to clean off there plates, after everyone went downstairs or where they where before dinner I decided to help Ellen do the dishes! I feel like it would be best if I just talking to him about everything and I hope this won't ruin the things we had. I walked upstairs and into the bathroom to change my outfit into something more comfortable, I put on white flow pants with a long sleeve brown top and left my socks on. "hey Jack" I said from outside of his door. "Yes?" He replied. "Can I come in" "yea"
"Jack, look I'm sorry if I did something that made you like this but we need to talk about this, Jack your one of my best friends I mean I can tell you anything and I just need you to talk to me" I said as I sat at the end of his bed. "Maggie I'm fine, I'm just sick." He said. "ok I'm sorry Jack, I know why your mad ok, your mad I went out with max and I don't know why. He's a really sweet guy and I like having his company around." I said as I got up. "he gonna hurt you maggie" he said in a faint voice. "how jack" he went silent. "Jack?" I said. "look forget about it maggie I understand your happy and I'm not gonna stop you from doing so, so go, go do what makes you happy because I'm not stoping you." He said as he pushed past me to go into his bathroom. I walked downstairs where Ellen and Jim where siting in the living room watching a baking show, "hey guys!!" I said. "Hey kiddo" Jim said. "Hi love!"
"I just wanted to say thank you for dinner it was amazing! But I gotta get home to take nova out and I gotta study for a biology exam we have on Monday (which is in 2 days) is it okay if I head out?" I said. "Of course Girll, hey also you should come over for Sunday, your birthday!!" Ellen said. "This baby's gonna be 17!!"  She said looking at jim while brushing her cold hand on my face. "next year she'll be a senior!" Jim said. "Yeah I'll come on Sunday!!" I said as I made my way to the door, I got home and took nova out in the back yard so we could play without her leash After I fead her and headed into my room.
