The clinking of metal on metal made my mouth smile on its own as the cold sweat drops dripped from every part of my body, soaking the white linen shirt and beige trousers Arik lent me for practicing. His face was full of childish joy when he knocked on my door at 6 am with a bunch of swords and daggers ringing together from a leather pouch. "Come on, we need to start early, I want to learn everything." just like that we didn't even have breakfast as I told him how training when hungry is the beat way to make your animal instinct kick in. "A well-fed animal sleeps, a hungry animal is the most dangerous, that's why I never eat before a mission" I told him when he kept complaining. "Don't worry, we will eat like beasts after we finish, trust me it will taste one hundred times more delicious when you earn it"

We lost track of time as our pants got soiled with dirt and our arms got sore and swollen. It was like dancing, even though he got multiple slashes and bruises after falling a few times, he was actually a good dancer.

"The thing is" he panted, "you fight like I killed your family" he said as he fell to the dirty grass again. "You said you won't kick me again darling, so feisty" he said, grinning as the sunlight made his blue eyes shimmer at the edges. "Well that's it. Your elites don't know the feeling of being hungry for days, of fighting for your life, to being afraid in your own house" I replied with no emotion as I helped him to his feet. "Most humans will kill for the circle of power, for the wealth you have, if they knew about it. But you grow up with no danger, most of you never leave the hidden walls of Azadur, even if you do, you never go to dangerous states like Nevermoria, or Kardom, or Amrai not even Hanqi. You go to nice states where little to no demons dwell, where no blood is shed, and leave the dirty work for the fresh bloods, that's why we fight better, we have no family, no future and no past, even the ones who got decent families gets cut off from the once you discover they have the power" I hissed as I aimed once more for his legs a bit too hard, thank god I insisted on him wearing a metal suit. I waited for him to say anything, but he just looked at me, waiting for me to vent my anger on him.
