As the sun interred assaulting my eyes suddenly cracking them open, a flood of pain erupted through my whole body and I screamed in pain. I curled in the bed like a newborn, resting my head on my knees, seeking comfort in the warmth of the sheets. Memories of last night came flooding to my brain, making my head spin. Everything came to me at once, the three headed hellhounds, the devil words, the vivid dreams, flashes of cameras blinding me in the dark and a young stubborn girl saving me from suffocating in the smoke. I pondered for a minute about that little girl and how I ordered Tamara to stay in a hidden corner until we saw police officers surrounding her. I wish I could've done something more to help the little girl.
I shocked my head as of remembering who I actually am, I don't middle with humans as I'm not one of them anymore I'm a killing machine, a knight of the circle. I heard Tamara's footsteps running toward me and shielding my eyes from the sun with her warm shadow. She put her hand on my forehead and withdrew it quickly "shit Layla you are scorching hot, yesterday when I saw your blooded shirt I didn't imagine your wounds will be this bad." she eased my body and made me drink a vile liquid that burned my through, I coughed and opened my mouth to puke, but she put her hands firmly on my mouth. "You better drink it all, that's what you get when you go face a third level demon alone" she said scornfully.
And then I remembered that she didn't know about the hellhounds. I thought a moment in confusion as mahir's words came to me, warning me not to tell anyone anything, but it's probably just a dream. No devils are going to escape until the great war and the end of time and no signs are there in the sky warning us about any of that yet, probably it was the hellhound's venom, I shook my head and told her everything that happened in details. "No way, are you fucking kidding me right now" she jumped up circled the room then sat down again "fuck Layla these aren't hellhounds these are master hellhounds that's not natural"
I cracked a smile and said with amusement "as if hunting demons that possess human killers and eat their souls is normal." she looked at me with a side look that I knew very well, Tamara knows more than me and even when mahir was alive she knew more than him too, she is only two years older than me in her 22nd sun as circle knights say, but she has read more books than anyone I've ever known, maybe not as many as the elder's council, but she knows a lot.
