The Rain

The Walk Chapter 6

After her shower Stella ran down the stairs into the living room to watch some telly. Stella saw a note on the coffee table. It was from her mum.

" Hey Stella

Sorry i am not at home. Work called in saying they needed me. I should be home at 5. If dad rings tell him I'm on the loo, you know what he is like. And can you please walk the dogs if you are feeling better.

Love you! Mum xxxxxxx"

Stella knew her mum would ask her to do something. Stella sighed and stood up might as well get it other and done with she thought. Stella started to get ready for a muddy walk, Stella reached for her favourite hoodie and pulled it on and put the hood up.

Stella pressed play on her I.Pod and stepped out the door. As soon as her foot hit the floor the rain came down. She knew if she went back inside she will never walk them so she carried on walking. Stella walked for a few minuets till she came towards the opening of the field, and let the dogs off their leads.

As she pulled and dragged her feet across the floor and sometimes they would get stuck in the thick mud. And finally she fell right into the mud face first. Stella heard someone laugh at her in the background. She pulled her face up to see a blond boy with a black hoodie on. He held out his hand and Stella took it. He lifted her back onto her feet. She smiled and wiped her face on her sleeve.

"Thank-you so much" She said.

"No Problem at all. I think I know you from somewhere!" The boy answered with a grin on his face.

"errm dunno where," Stella answered with a worried face. "And why aren't you at school?"

"Shouldnt i be asking you the same question?"

"Well the school thinks I'm ill...."

"Ha I'm home Schooled"

"Lucky! Wait I think I know where you know me!"

"Ohhh where!"

"Last night when i was walking home. Your name is William or Will?" Stella answered unsure of herself

"That's it!! Stella right!"

"Yeah" Stella smiled "So why are you walking in these horrid fields today?"

"My dogs were crying and wining making me feel bad" he said with a sheepish grin showing a crooked grin. Stella sore they were straight last time he smiled.

"Awww that is so sweet! Animal lover then? What type of dogs do you have? I have a lab and a Labradoodle!!" Stella said really fast.

"Woah slow down there missy! Yeah i love animals. And two German Shepard's. They are with your two I think" he pointed over towards the four dogs. Stella nodded and said

"I think we need to catch up with them!" William nodded and they both began to walk towards the dogs. Dougal saw them coming so he came bounding up to the two of them. But slipped and slided to them instead. Both Stella and William were laughing so hard they were crying. Stella bent down to stroke Dougal but fell instead. She heared William snicker. So Stella came up with something to do to him.

"Help me up!" she held out her hand for him to take but instead of being lifted off her feet, she pulled him down next to her. Stella erupted with laughter. When she heard the pop of William's face being pulled out of the mud. William laughed with her. Through the laughing Stella's phone went off with the song She's A Lady by Forever The Sickest Kids. Stella pulled a sorry face towards William and answered her phone.

"Hello?"

"Stells you didn't text BACK!!!"

"Sorry Chace!"

"And Blake!"

"Sorry! What do you want?"

"We need to talk about Blake's EMAIL!!"

"Sorry I'm losing signal I gotta go call you back later bye love you!!" And Stella hung up on the two boys. She smiled at William and he smiled back. And they both started walking through the raining, muddy fields laughing at each others jokes.
