Cheers filled the arena as the audience celebrated another straight win. I smiled and applauded before gathering up my stuff.
“Their third straight win, not bad.” Brittany said as she turned towards me.
I looked up at her “It is pretty good.”
Grabbing up the remainder of my stuff I exited the room with Brittany right beside me.
“Sooo how are things between you and Seguin?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Come on Jess, you know you can’t avoid Tyler forever.”
“I have been doing it for nine days and it has been working out great for me.”
Brittany huffed as we entered the elevator, “Ooh Tyler kissed you and you’re too afraid to admit to yourself that you enjoyed it.”
I spun towards her, “No I am not. I am avoiding him because I don’t want to have to deal with the awkwardness after that night.”
“Whatever you say Jess.”
“Can we just talk about something else please?” I begged for the topic to be changed.
“Sure. Where are you headed to now?”
“The meeting room. I have to make a few calls and tweak some plays .”
“Burying yourself in work isn’t good for you. Too much stress and no sleep have been putting a toll on you.”
“Well those are the duties that come with having to do this job.”
We turned a corner and stopped in front of the meeting room. A sigh escaped Brittany’s lips, “Also remember that you are still 19 and you don’t have to be perfect at everything.”
“I’m not trying to be Britt, and yes I’m 19 but I have to grow up when it comes to doing this job and if that means having to give up at being a teenager then I will.”
Brittany groaned “No you don’t Jess. You are only a teenager once; you have the rest of your life to be grown up.”
With that, Brittany walked towards the guys’ locker room. I stood for a moment thinking about what Brittany said, have I been obsessing with work a little too much?

“The flight Saturday will be delayed for an hour?” I asked George, the head of our flight operations.
“Yes there seems to be a storm over New Jersey that night.”
“But it will be gone by 8?”
“Yes it shall be.”
I sighed and just shook my head “Well thank you George for letting me know.”
“No problem, have a goodnight Miss. Neely.”
I chuckled “You too and tell Jane and the kids I said hello.”
“I will.” George laughed back.
Hanging up the phone, I leaned back in my seat and huffed. Talking on the phone and making arrangements for the team never seems to end, looking up at the clock I saw it was 10:30, Julien would be packing up to leave soon.
Getting up from my seat I collected my belongings before walking to his office. Knocking on his door, I heard him say ‘come in’.
As I opened the door I saw him placing his coat on, “Jessie, what’s up?”
