Chapter Seven

Slipping back into consciousness, Heather slowly opened her eyes to find herself in an abandoned human shelter. It took a few moments for her to remember how she got there, but once she did, Heather stood up abruptly. "I have to find a way out of here" she mumbled to herself.
She didn't have long however, due to a certain speckled gray she-wolf. "Don't even try to escape; it's hopeless" Maple's daughter snarled at
Heather.
"That doesn't mean I won't stop trying!" Heather snarled back. "Why did you drag me here anyway?!"
The she-wolf smirked. "There is a large pack of wolves outside of this dwelling; keeping guard. If you really want to die escaping, go for it. As for why you were brought here, don't you remember how your mate killed my mother?"
Heather stopped pacing and stared questioningly at the she-wolf in front of her. "How did you find that many allies in such a short amount of time? And I'm guessing you want revenge for the death of your mother; but she was a bad wolf."
Maple's daughter growled dangerously
at Heather's last statement before replying. "My mother had many allies before her death. They wish to be my allies as they were hers. My mother was not evil! She cared about every one of her pack mates including I, Mist! You are the bad ones! Your mate took her away from me!" The she-wolf leapt onto Heather, catching her off guard and effectively pinning her to the ground. As Heather struggled, the she-wolf leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Which is why I will kill you ever so slowly, so that by the time your precious mate comes to rescue you, he can watch you drown in your own blood."
Heather struggled even more, and snarled "I'll never let you kill me; I have too much to live for!"
The she-wolf smirked triumphantly as she raked her claws across Heather's face. "Unfortunately, not even you can escape death by Mist's claws and fangs, Heather."
