Chapter One

Heather yawned as she stretched, and slowly woke up. She shook her head in disappointment when she saw that Sharp had already left, but sighed at seeing Coal, Breeze, Taka curled up on the other side of the cave. Heather still couldn't believe that those pups were grown up. Where had all the time gone? It was the same with Maki, Zia, and Riko. They grew up so fast...

Suddenly, Heather was jerked out of her thoughts as Sharp bounded towards her with two plump rabbits in his jaws. "Those look so good." Heather whimpered, drooling.

Sharp dropped the rabbits, smirking. "But you're not the one who caught them."

"No fair!" Heather whined. "You aren't really going to eat both of those by yourself, are you?"

Sharp chuckled and said in an amused voice "Nah, I was only teasing."

Heather rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed at this behavior, but really, with Sharp, you learn to expect it. Not able to contain the monstrous hunger in her stomach any longer, Heather bit into one of the rabbits. "Mmm, so juicy." she mumbled over the food."

"Yep." Sharp agreed, his mouth stuffed as well.

"Hey, where's mine?" Breeze asked, poking her head out from inside the cave.

"You can have the rest of mine." Sharp answered. "I'm stuffed, and these are pretty filling rabbits."

Breeze nodded her head in thanks and made her way to Sharp's rabbit, while Sharp disappeared into the cave.

Having finished my breakfast as well, I asked "Breeze, can you tell your father that I'm taking off to visit Maki and Xavier now?"

"Okay." she said, disappearing. into the cave. Seconds later, Sharp emerged.

"I know we talked about this Heather, but I still don't like the thought of you going alone." Sharp said anxiously.

"I'll be fine." I assured him. Then we said our goodbyes and I headed off. I hope Xavier, Maki, and the pack are okay...
