ShikaNeji(a Shikamaru and Neji fanfiction)

Chapter twenty six

As soon as the doctor left the room, Shikamaru opened his eyes."Is he gone already? What a drag." Shikamaru said. Everyone looked at him before I gave him a huge hug.

"Shikamaru! You're okay!" I said. I heard him chuckle as he hugged me back. I put my face in his chest and took in his lovely scent. Everyone started to cheer and were saying things like "you had us there." or "don't try doing something like that again." Everyone stayed with Shikamaru until around lunch time when Minato said it was time for everyone to leave. I looked at Shikamaru sad and he gave me a playful punch.

"You'll see me tomorrow." He said.

"Okay." I started walking over to Naruto's dad when he stopped me.

"Uh. Neji," Minato said.

"Yeah?" I asked him as I was halfway in between him and Shikamaru.

"You are staying here."

"What? Really?"

"Yep. Your uncle thought it might be a good idea if you to could spend as much time as you can together." Minato said.

"Thank you Mr. Uzamaki." I said. He laughed as he left the room. I looked over at Shikamaru and he had a smirk on his face. I laughed at him as I walked over to him. I was about to take a seat on a chair when he stopped me.

"No. You are getting your fine ass over here, you only get to sit on my bed." Shikamaru said, scooting over a little so there was room for me and him.

"And why should I?" I asked him, standing right next to his bed. He grabbed me and pulled me into his bed so I was right next to him.

"So we can cuddle and I can hold you." He said. I blushed at what Shikamaru said. I hugged him and buried my face into his chest as he hugged me back.

"I missed you so much." I said.

"I did too."

"I thought that I would never get to see you again."

"What made you think that?"

"Because it was my fault you got kidnapped."

"Neji-"

"It's my fault you got in to a coma. If I didn't break up with Tenten, you wouldn't be in the hospital. You shouldn't even be in the hospital." I said, crying into Shikamaru's chest. He started to rub circles into my back and placed his chin on top of my head.

"Neji. None of this is your fault." He said. "If you didn't break up with Tenten, I would have you for an amazing boyfriend."

"Shika..."

"If it wasn't for you, I probably be in the hospital for all the beatings I got from Kiba. You are my everything Neji. Everything I do reminds me of you. I can't imagine me being with someone else but you. You are my sun, my light, that guides me out of the darkness that I am in." He said. I started to cry even harder into Shikamaru's chest. He rubbed more circles into my back and whispered into my ear "Let it all go Neji. I know you kept it all in, but it's time to let all your tears go."

"Shikamaru(hic)," I said. "You are(hic) my everything too(hic). No matter what(hic) I do, it(hic) always reminds me(hic) of you. I(hic) see you in(hic) my mind even(hic) if you aren't(hic) next to me(hic). I always think(hic) you are with(hic) me. In my(hic) hospital room, I(hic) always thought you(hic) would walk through(hic) those doors with(hic) everyone and give(hic) me a hug(hic). I missed your(hic) hugs and your(hic) kisses so much(hic). It hurt me(hic). Not knowing if(hic) you were okay(hic) or not." I said.

Shikamaru let go of me and looked directly at me. He shook his head before giving me a kiss. It wasn't one of those sloppy kisses or those quick kisses. It was a passionate one, like it was needing to find or look for something.

When Shikamaru broke the kiss, my face was blushing and my stomach was burning for more. Shikamaru poked my nose with one of his fingers and made a little popping noise with his mouth. I giggled at how stupid he sounded. He brushed away any tears of my face with his thumb and smiled at me.

"Look at that." He said.

"What?" I asked him.

"You stopped crying." He said. I playfully slapped his chest and he chuckled at me. "As long as you're happy, I'm happy." Shikamaru said. I looked up at him and shook my head.

"Since when were you romantic?" I asked him.

"Always." He said.

"Pft. Yeah right." I said.

"What?"

"You are not romantic in anyway." I said.

"Hm. Wanna go on a date after I get out of the hospital?" He asked me.

"What?"

"You heard me. Do you, Hyūga Neji, like to go on a date with me?" He asked. I looked at him before smiling.

"Of course baka."

"Great. I thought you were going to say no." Shikamaru said jokingly. I slapped his shoulder and turned away from him so my back was facing him.

"You are such an idiot." I said. I felt Shikamaru wrap his arms around me and whispered into my ear, "But I'm your idiot." I mentally slapped myself as he hugged me tighter.

"Neji," Shikamaru said.

"Yeah."

"I love you." He said yawning. I felt myself blush and I closed my eyes. I turned around towards Shikamaru and opened my eyes. He looked at me puzzled, confused at what i was doing. I gave him a kiss on the lips and surprised him. He stayed there shocked for a second before he started to move his lips. I went at his pace and the simple kiss became an exciting kiss filled with passion, love and excitement. We broke the kiss for air and I placed my forehead on top of Shikamaru's.

"What was that for?" He asked me.

"I love you too." I said.
