ShikaNeji(a Shikamaru and Neji fanfiction)

Chapter One

Hey Guys!

I had this idea in my head for a long time so yeah. This story is also an alternate universe. Basic layout is that Shikamaru is head over heels in love with Neji who is in a relationship with someone else. Can Shikamaru win Neji's heart over or will Shikamaru's life go down hill? Stay and read this story to find out.

Just a friendly reminder, I don't own Naruto or any of the characters. Wish I did though.  Then again, how many people wish they owned Naruto.  I know you do Reader-San.

Shikamaru's Pov

It's 3 o'clock in the afternoon and school was over with.  What a drag.  My best friends want me  to go to Naruto's party that he is throwing for this month and they want me to go badly.  Why?  I have no idea and they've been trying to convince me since the beginning of school day.  Frankly, I'm getting quite annoyed with my best friends.

"Come on Shikamaru," Choji, my best friend since elementary school, said as we walked down the hallway towards the front entrance of the school. "You need to come to this party. You never go out that much with us."

"Yeah Shikamaru. You have to come." Ino, my other best friend since middle school, said  as we turned right. "You need to go out more with us  and who knows, maybe Neji might go to Naruto's party."

"Fine!" I yelled, causing a few students to look over at my direction. "I'll go to Naruto's party, but only because Naruto is my friend. Not because of you know who."

"Yeah!" They start to yell, gaining more unwanted attention from everyone. Because of this, I quietly walk away from them and turned around a corner.  Yeah.  That was a mistke because once I turned around, I come to find two of my friends, who are secretly dating each other, making out.

"Oi! Naruto. Sasuke. Make out somewhere else will yeah."  I said to them.  "Preferable somewhere not as opened this hallway where so many people can see you."

"You're just jealous that you don't have someone you love with you Nara." Naruto said.  "But we will keep in mind what you said about finding somewhere more secluded."

"Whatever. You guys are such a drag."

"So are you going to my party Shika?"

"Yeah. I'll be there.  Choji and Ino wouldn't stop bugging me about going."

"Okay. See you there." Sasuke said before he went back to kissing Naruto.

After watching Naruto and Sasuke kiss for a good nanosecond, I started to walk home to get ready for Naruto's party.  All of a sudden, as I left the school's doors, I bumped into someone and I fell down hard on my ass.  I looked up to see who I had bumped into, only to see something that I couldn't believe in. It was Neji and his girlfriend, Tenten.  Neji.  My crush since middle school when I realized that I'm gay and not straight.  That was a "fun" experience, especially when Ino found out.  She would not leave me alone for a full month, asking me how it feels liking the same gender and if being gay has a weird affect on me.  Thankfully she stopped after a month with the questions, but she keeps pointing out that I have a crush on Neji, who happens to be straight and in a relationship.  Hooray...

"Hey.  Are you alright there?" Neji asked me.  I nodded my head towards him as he held out his hand and helped me up.  Neji looked so beautiful from the angle that I saw him in.  His beautiful pale skin against the sun, his gray eyes looked like the moon, and his long brown hair looked like silk when he had it in his normal hair style.  Neji started to look at me strangely and then, I remembered that I didn't say thank you yet.  I muttered a quick thank you to Neji and he walked up ahead.  Trying not to die of embarrassment, I turned around only to see Tenten extremely close to my face.  Apparently, I'm not allowed to have a personal bubble today since people keep coming close to me. 

"Stay away from my Neji.  I saw how you looked at him and I don't like it.  Just stay away from him.  You got that?"  She said to me.  I nodded my head as she smirked before running off to Neji.

'How did she know?' I thought to myself as I started my walk back home.

What will happen at the party?

Why was Tenten being such a dick to Shikamaru?

I really hope you all like the added in story details.  In all honesty, I would like to add in more, but I can't really do that without messing up the next chapter XD.  Looking at all of this,  I'm still a shitty writer.  But hey, at least the grammar is fixed in this chapter.   Yay!
