So angelic is the night, dressed as bride is the night.
Emotions swirling, some chats there be.
Love me.
Third person's POVThe clink sound coming from the kitchen was enough to let the old couple of the Dixit Niwas in the house know that their was something going on between their daughter in law and son. When the duo looked towards their son, he was highly engrossed in the news that was going on in the TV. They knew either he was ignoring or he was genuinely listening the debate going on in the TV but it was hard for them into ignore it. But they didn't try to probe in their matter as it seemed uncomfortable to them. They looked at each other and shrugged and they decided to ignore it but failed miserably. Sigh.
Meanwhile Nandini was grumpily washing few utensils after cooking the dinner. She was mad at Gautam but more at herself. She was mad at him for giving him silent treatment. It was technically their first fight after their marriage. Nandini had tried to talk to him and apologise to him but he's giving her silent treatment. They fought last night and Gautam had been ignoring her since then not even talking when necessary, kind of ignoring her presence.
Nandini shook her head dismissing all her thoughts regarding their fight and took the casserole and few plates and put them on the centre table. Gautam glanced at her but she didn't look towards him and returned back to kitchen to bring saucepot and water bottle and few glasses.
When she started serving food for her in laws, she also served her husband's food without looking at him. His husband again looked towards her but quickly averted his eyes, not wanting to get caught. Nandini wiped off the sweat from her forehead. It had been very hot since few days. Even cooking in the kitchen felt like a war to her. It was usually Gautam helping her in the kitchen especially during dinner time but today when he came to kitchen he ignored her and resignly Nandini left the kitchen without muttering anything.
After serving everyone dinner, Nandini went back to the kitchen and cleaned up everything. She decided to wash the dishes early in the morning as she was in no mood to do anything now. Usually she preferred washing utensils before going to bed but she was too exhausted that day both mentally and physically. After cleaning the kitchen she went back to her room to take a shower. When the cold water hit her body she couldn't control the tears falling from her eyes. She felt mentally drained. She was upset with Gautam, she was mad at him but at the same time she wanted to run back in his arms and inhale his scent but she couldn't do so. She was missing her home too especially her brother. It felt like it was not her home anymore, she was not that close with her in laws. She was only close with Gautam and he was not talking to her, even being in her presence felt like plaque to him, she thought.
Nandini soon started to drift to the other night when they began fighting. She still couldn't understand how a beautiful night turned into one of terrible nights of her life. Although it was Nandini to raised her voice a few decibel high. Gautam never shouted at her but his ignorance was having way bigger impact on her. That night
Gautam and Nandini were sitting in their balcony. It was a cosy night with gentle breeze. The chimming of windchime hanging on the ceiling of balcony was like a melody to their ears. Nandini put her head on his shoulder and in return Gautam put his hand around her shoulder and brought her close to his chest and kissed her forehead.
