Chapter 6

कह दूँ तुम्हें या चुप रहूँ?

Third person's POV

"Maa, I will be late from college today because there's a function at one of my colleague's home." Nandini told her mother in law about the function and gave her father in law the address of the venue before leaving.

Nandini half - heartedly left her home. It was friday and she was supposed to reach college by 8 in the morning as she had only two classes that day. She took the city bus that usually stop in front of her society. When she took her seat after taking the ticket from the conductor she started thinking about Gautam and how their relationship has turned totally upside-down within a few span of days.

It had been four days since their fight and Gautam still had not talked to her. She was tired of him giving her silent treatment. She tried many times to talk to him but he did even glance at her for once. She was heartbroken, it was so painful for her to not talk to him while staying under the same roof. She wanted to hold him while sleeping but she couldn't do it. She knew that she made a big mistake and she even regretted all the words she said to him. She acted like a spoilt brat that night. She just wanted him to hold her and tell her that everything is going to be okay. God! I miss him, she muttered under her breathe.

Soon the bus halted and she reached her college. When she entered her college she realised someone was calling her out her name. When she turned around she noticed that Karthik, one of her classmates was shouting her name. She instanty greeted him with a smile on her face. Karthik was also doing his master. He planned to become a professor just like Nandini.

"How are you doing now?" Nandini asked.

"Not bad actually. The flu is gone now but it really took a toll on me"

"I can understand."

"So how's your preparation going on?" Karthik asked.

"Preparation for what?" Nandini seemed confused so she asked him with frown marrying her face.

"Arey didn't you tell me that you were preparing for state civil services exam?"

"Oh! That was not me. That's Swati who is preparing for state public service commission exams." Nandini answered him.

"Swati, your friend, the one who is always around you."

Nandini modded with a small laugh.

"Why? What happened? Is everything okay?" Nandini's asked Karthik as he seemed a little disoriented to her.

"Yarr, I was thinking to also prepare for the exam but I needed some help regarding it. You know the syllabus is so wide. And the optional sucks too!" Karthik muttered with a sullen face.
