"Gautam! You are not supposed to eat it now! It's for the guests." Gautam's mother scolded him and pushed his hand away from the laddoos.
Both mother-son duo were currently fighting over laddoos. It was Gautam's favourite besan ke laddoo prepared by his mother. But his mother was not letting him have any of them as she prepared them for her sons-in-law who were coming with their wives and kids. It was Gautam's parent's wedding anniversary and Nandini, Anju and Rahul(Anita's husband) decided to celebrate it. It was a small get-together with family only.
"Maa, your daughters are not guests!" Gautam scoffed.
"I know but their husbands are."
"Maa, your son-in-laws used to stay here for months before both of your daughters got married to them." Gautam taunted while making a funny face.
"Why are you acting like a child?"
"Because you are not allowing me to have a laddoo," Gautam whined.
His mother took the laddoos away from him, leaving him to sulk alone. Resignly Gautam switched on the TV and started watching some random movies.
Suddenly a hand popped up in front of his face holding a laddoo, his face instantly wore a charming smile. He held her hand and took the laddoo from her hand by his mouth. Nandini chuckled at his childishness.
He then turned towards her, wiggled his eyebrows at her and asked "How did you get me that?"
"It was from Prashad"
"At least you let me have one, Ma didn't even let me touch them," Gautam complained making Nandini laugh.
"Acha! Go take a shower and wear that light green kurta I bought for you last Saturday."
"Yes Boss!" Gautam saluted her dramatically making Nandini laugh again. Nandini shook her head at his childishness and then went to talk to her mother-in-law who had been pestering her since last night about the features of the new phone that Gautam and Nandini both gifted her as her anniversary gift.
"Nandini..I forgot how to send songs on WhatsApp. I have to send this Hari Krishna song to my sister. Can you again show me how to do it?" Her mother-in-law in law asked.
Nandini sighed in her mind but, she nodded her head yes.
After explaining to her mother-in-law law nth times about the new features she went to her room to talk to her mother. It had been more than three days and she had talked to her family. She missed her family a lot. Life changes after marriage. Earlier she couldn't go an hour without talking to her mother and now it sometimes took three days with talking talk to her mother.
