चुप-चुप संग डोलूThe string of my life is connected to you
I'll sway silently with youTHIRD PERSON POV
"Nandini, Have you cooked lunch? Yugal's father is coming in a few minutes I just talked to him." Arpita, her sister-in-law asked her while walking into the kitchen.
"Yes di, I made some daal and rice and I am kneading dough right now."
"Okay. Nandini, Yugal's father always has a salad with his food so make some salad too." Nandini nodded her head yes and after that, she left.
It had been more than one week since her marriage to Gautam. Her mother-in-law fell sick after 3 days of their marriage because of stress and household chores. So naturally, Nandini had to take responsibility for the kitchen and the rest of the house. Gautam too had started going to his office. Guests had left only Arpita remained because Yugal had not started going to school yet. As for then Nandini had started to settle down but still missed her parents and siblings.
Things with Gautam were fine. They had not escalated but were not bad either. Her thoughts were broken when she heard the ring of the doorbell. Suyash bhaiya has arrived she guessed. She went to the door to open it and greeted him and let him in. "Papaaaaa! Yugal screamed in delight and ran towards his father. Suyash picked him up and smothered him with kisses. She went towards the kitchen to bring water and snacks for him. When she put the tray on the table, everyone was there even her mother-in-law was also on the sofa sitting beside her father-in-law. She noticed that Arpita was motioning her to cover her head with the pallu of her saree. She covered her head instantly with her pallu and murmured sorry to her. She nodded her head. Nandini didn't know what to do so she stood there.
"Nandini, go, start serving the food. Suyash Babu must hungry."
They did not have a dining table here, so she started setting the plates and bowls on the centre table. She served the food and water. They kept talking about random things.
"Nandini, have you talked to Gautam? When will he arrive today?" Her father-in-law asked her.
"Papa I don't know. When I called him he said he will come whenever his meeting gets over."
She went to the kitchen thinking they will call her when something will be needed. She sat on the stool which was on the left side of the kitchen and just then her pallu from her head fell. She couldn't help but started thinking about how her life had turned upside down within 10 days. She didn't know if it was bad or not but she knew that this was her life now.
She could still remember the day when she was talking to Gautam's sister Anita over a phone call and she suddenly handed over the phone to Gautam taking both of them as a surprise. It was 3 days ago before her wedding. It was very awkward for both of them. It was not the first time they were talking but they did not talk frequently. It was still awkward between them."Hey! H..how are you doing?" Gautam asked with hesitation lacing in his voice.
"Hh..hi. I am doing good. How are you doing?" She mentally slapped herself for asking such a common question but waited for his answer."I am good too. So.....How's the preparation going on at your home.?" When Gautam replied she could hear the sound of giggling and laughing coming from the other side of the phone. She bit her lip to control herself from smiling. To her, it felt like Gautam was trying hard to talk but was failing miserably at choosing topics to talk about.
