act two, chapter ten
spring break

"Okay, angel. I have to talk to my teacher and friends really quickly and then i'll come back to play dollies with you again, okay?"
"All right!" The young Townsend says, "But don't take too long!"
Andrea chuckles, leaving her half-sister to her dolls and heading to the guest room she was staying in during her time in California.
Andrea Townsend
"Okay, so living with my dad over break hasn't been as disastrous as I thought it was going to be. Dad has been working so I don't see him as often, his new wife is super nice and a great cook, Mellie is staying here with me, and his children are angels. I'm glad I decided to come. Meeting my half-siblings have been the highlight of my break so far."
"There you are." Amelie says as the girl walks into the room. "Hey, can we switch half-siblings for a while? I have bruises from playing basketball with Little Benny."
"Sure, but just to let you know, I have stepped on like 50 different lego pieces in Haven's room in the last hour. That girl does not clean her room."
"Never mind, I think i'll stick with Ben until the twins get home from their friend's house."
"Good call."
"Are you hopping onto that zoom call now?" Amelie grabs her jacket from the dresser.
"Yeah, would you mind watching Haven too for me?"
Andrea opens her laptop and clicks the link that Miss Jenn had emailed to the whole group.
"Of course. Have fun." Amelie leaves the room just as the group call pops up.
"Hey, guys." Andrea says with a wave.
"Hey, Andrea. How's your break going? Heard you flew out to California!" Miss Jenn says with a warm smile.
"It's going well." Loud screams erupts from the hallway, making everyone on the call's eyes widen.
"That sounded like someone was screaming bloody murder, are you all right?"
"Oh, we're fine. That's just my little brother screaming because my youngest sister wants to do his make up. This happens way to often." Andrea checks her watch, "We have approximately 15 minutes before one of them starts crying."
Another block appears on screen, signaling that someone else had joined. The camera turns on to reveal that it was Ashlyn and EJ.
"What's up?"
"Hi, y'all! Sorry."
"Our parents all went to Park City together and left us to watch the house. We've been streaming old movies."
"Yeah. Watched Scary Movie last night."
"Ah! What a classic."
"I love that movie." Aiden chimes in.
"Never heard of it.."
"Old?"
"You guys are watching like, old, old movies."
"Well, I wanted to tell you guys..."
"Sorry we're late. Emergency in the kitchen." Kourtney and Big Red join the call, smiling brightly at the camera.
"What's up!"
"This is why we're soul mates."
"Yeah. Okay, folks. Let's focus." Miss Jenn says, as Ashlyn sends flirty glances at her boyfriend through the screen. "Now that we're all here. Wait. No, where..."
