Lori came by earlier. I didn't know how to reassure her that Carl was gonna be okay.
"Hmm." Skylar smiled.
"What?" I asked.
"I was just remindin' her about the time when I was 4. We had just come back from the park one day, and she had this idea to prank my Dad. So, we got a whole bunch of silly string and set them up all over the house. We set 'em up in the kitchen, bathroom, fridge, the truck, all over the place. Long story short, my Dad was not happy. But, everyone got a good laugh out of it." She smiled.
I chuckled. "Did you get grounded?"
She shook her head. "No. My Dad has never been able to ground me, no matter what. The only one who has grounded me was Sarah."
"Who is she to your Dad?" I asked.
She sighed. "Sarah...her and my Dad both had feelings for each other. They never told each other. But, it was obvious that they had something. Whenever they would have a one night stand or something, they would get mad at each other for it. And, everyone always told 'em, "Tell him or her how you feel.", but, they never listened." She wiped a tear. "Sarah...was like my mom. And, I miss her everyday."
