I sat by a log, staring at the fire that Daryl made, a million thoughts running through my head. None of them good.

"Hey." I looked up as Daryl put his jacket around my shoulders before he sat down behind me on the log, his arms going over my shoulders, holding me close. "Don't do whatever it is that yer thinking."

I let out a sigh. "How do you always know that I'm thinking bad things?"

"I've known ya for 20 years. I know when ya have those thoughts." He shrugged as I put my chin on his knee.

I grabbed a stick and started poking the logs in the fire with it before I heard footsteps coming up to us, but I didn't care.

"We can't find Lori. And the others aren't back yet either."

"Yeah. That dumb bitch must've gone out looking for 'em." Daryl replied.

"What?" Carol questioned.

"Yeah, she asked us to go. Told her we were done being two damn errand boys." Daryl said.

"And you didn't say anything?" Carol said, her voice definitely upset.

I stared at the fire, somewhat regretting my decision on not helping Lori.

Carol turned away, before turning back around. "Don't do this, please? I've already lost my girl."
