As Sirius entered his friends home he called out for him.

"Pete" He looked around "Peter" He called again before realising what had happened. "No" He said before quickly running out of Peter Pettigrew's home and rushing to James and Lily's where Amara and Ella were also.

James was sat on the sofa Harry and Ella were both sat in front of him as he made puffs of coloured smoke erupt from his wand for the amusement of the two young children. They were both laughing and trying to catch the smoke. The door opened as Lily and Amara entered.

"Sirius should be here soon" Lily says as she picks up Harry whilst James stands up and picks up Ella. He threw his wand down upon the sofa and stretched. Suddenly the front door burst open as James quickly handed Ella to Amara before sprinting down the hallway, forgetting his wand.

"Lily, Amara, take the kids and go! It's him! Go! Run! I'll hold him off !" Voldemort laughed before casting the curse.

"Avada Kedavra!" The green light filled the cramped hallway, it lit the pram pushed against the wall, it made the banisters glare like lightning rods, and James fell.

Amara and Lily ran upstairs. They both quickly put Ella and Harry down in the cot before rushing to barricade the door with a chair and boxes. Voldemort forced the door open, cast aside the chair and boxes hastily piled against it with one lazy wave of his wand and there she stood, her arms open as she shielded her best friend and children behind her.

"You won't touch them" Amara said not looking at Lily or the two children.

"Move aside. I only want the boy" Voldemort said.

"Never" Amara shouted.

"Avada Kedavra" He pointed the wand at Amara. She fell to the floor, unmoving.

"Not the children, not them, please not them!" Lily pleaded

"Stand aside, you silly girl stand aside now."

"Not them, please no, take me, kill me instead"

"This is my last warning, you can leave and take the girl with you. I just want the boy"

"Not Harry! Please have mercy have mercy. Not Harry! Not Harry! Please I'll do anything"

"Stand aside. Stand aside, girl!" The green light flashed around the room and she dropped like her husband. He looked at the children and ignored the girl wanting to deal with the boy that was a threat to his future first. He pointed the wand very carefully into the boy's face. Harry began to cry. "Avada Kedavra!" And then the curse backfired as Voldemort fell to the ground.

As Sirius arrived the first person he discovered was James, lying by the door. He fell to his knees beside his best friend.

"I'm so sorry" He said before he heard a cry. He stood quickly and ran upstairs, but he hadn't been prepared for what he saw. His wife was lying on the floor by the bedroom door, her eyes open but unseeing. "No" He screamed as he pulled her to him before looking across to see Lily's body as well "It's all my fault" He whispered to Amara as he hugged her body before he spotted the two children both in the cot. They were crying but they were okay. He released Amara's body and slowly stood up, walking over to the cot. "Hey baby girl and baby prongs" He whispered as he picked them both up. He slowly walked out of the room wanting to get the two children away from their dead mothers. As he walked outside he met Hagrid.

"Dumbledore's asked me to collect Harry" Sirius handed him Harry and placed a quick kiss on his head.

Sirius stopped outside of a door and knocked. A man answered.

"Can I help you?" He asked looking at Sirius who had Ella asleep in his arms, wrapped in the blanket he had found her in.

"Can you take care of her. Raise her as your own please" Sirius begged the man. He nodded as he took the baby from him. Sirius placed a kiss on his daughters head. "I love you so much Ella" He whispered before he left to go find Peter.
