It was the day before lessons were to start again after the Christmas break and Ella, Fred and George were walking down to the black lake when Ella heard him.

"Well well look who it is hopeless and the nobody twins" Draco Malfoy says as his two friends, Crabbe and Goyle, laugh like he's actually funny.

"Original Malfoy so original. Seriously when are you going to grow up" Ella glares at him.

"So how does it work" He asks.

"What" Fred answers.

"Do you share her or take turns" He smirks at his mates. Without even thinking, Ella pulls her fist back and punches him straight in the nose. She was certain she even heard it break.

"Ella HOPE MY OFFICE NOW" She hears Lupin shout.

"Fine" She says, walking off from the twins, who were still laughing at Malfoy holding his nose. Ella follows Lupin through a few corridors before they reach his office.

"Care to explain why you punched Mr Malfoy" He asks as he gestures for Ella to take a seat. She sits down.

"He deserved it" Is all she says.

"Am I expected to just accept that answer"

"I've just had enough lately and I snapped after he said something"

"Care to tell me what he said" He says calmly.

"He called me hopeless like he always does and then asked if the twins share me or take turns" She says, looking at her hands.

"He said what" Lupin replies, looking slightly angry before recollecting his cool. "I will be having a word with Mr Malfoy about what he said" He says.

"Won't do any good he'll just do it again he doesn't care about getting in trouble for things like that" Ella replies.

"He won't be happy after a detention with me" He smiles.

"Can I go now" She asks.

"

"Yes of course, I'll be going to find Mr Malfoy now"

"Bye Professor" She heads back to the common room. Ella was sat on one of the sofas in the Gryffindor common room when Fred and George walked in. Their eyes scanning the room before landing on her.

"How'd it go trouble maker" George asks as Fred sits next to her.

"Fine not even slightly in trouble" She smiles at them.

"Good although it's not like you to hit. You're usually the one telling others to calm down" Fred says.

"I guess everything just kind of got to me and he happened to get the brunt of it" She looks down at her hands, tears starting to prick her eyes. Harry walks in with Ron, Hermione was off elsewhere after having another fall out with Ron. 

"El its okay, we get it" Fred says, pulling her to him.

"Hey don't cry" George says, moving to sit the other side of her.

"I didn't realise how much everything had got on top of me. I've been trying to hide it all and how I feel and it's just too much" She cries into Fred's chest.

"Hey, we get it El. You can talk to us, you know that right" Fred says as he strokes his hand up and down her back. Harry looks over at Ella before looking back at Ron.

"You need to apologise to her Harry. This whole thing is destroying her. She barely talks to anyone other than the twins now" Harry glances at Ella again before talking.

"I'm trying to figure out how to fix this. The time when she needs her best friend and where am I, nowhere to be seen. She's always been there when I needed her but I can't seem to do the same because she thinks I hate her" He says putting his head in his hands.
