When Ella and Hermione woke the next morning they discovered that both Harry and the Weasleys had all disappeared. It was during breakfast when Professor McGonagall had asked them both to have a word in her office where Dumbledore had proceeded to tell the two girls about Arthur Weasley being attacked. As soon as the term had finished they had both packed their trunks and headed to Grimmauld place where all the others were. It was around six o’clock in the evening that Hermione rang the doorbell and Mrs. Black started screaming. Remus was the one to answer the door.

"Hello you two. Harry and the others are upstairs"

"What about my dad" Ella asked looking at her godfather.

"Kitchen. Go on I'll sort your things for you"

"Thank you" Ella said hugging him before running to the kitchen to find Sirius.

"Ella" He stood quickly wrapping his arms around his daughter.

"Hi dad"

"I thought you was spending christmas with Elena and Luke"

"Changed my mind"

"Ella you coming to find Harry?" Hermione asked from the door.

"Yep let's go" She answered letting go of Sirius and following Hermione up to the room where Buckbeak was being kept. Hermione hammered hard on the door.

“I know you’re in there,” Hermione said. “Will you please come out? We want to talk to you.”

“What are you doing here?” Harry asked her, pulling open the door. “I thought you were skiing with your mum and dad. And I thought you were spending Christmas with your parents" He said looking at Ella.

“Well, to tell the truth, skiing’s not really my thing,” said Hermione. “So I’ve come for Christmas. But don’t tell Ron that, I told him it’s really good because he kept laughing so much. Anyway, Mum and Dad are a bit disappointed, but I’ve told them that everyone who’s serious about the exams is staying at Hogwarts to study. They want me to do well, they’ll understand. Anyway,” she said briskly,

"I wasn't all that keen on going home anyway so any chance to avoid it and I was taking it" Ella said with a shrug.

“let’s go to your bedroom, Ron’s mum’s lit a fire in there and she’s sent up sandwiches" Hermione said.
Harry and Ella followed her back to the second floor. When they entered the bedroom they found Ron and Ginny waiting for them, sitting on Ron’s bed. “We came on the Knight Bus,” said Hermione airily, pulling  off her jacket before Harry had time to speak. “Dumbledore told us what had happened first thing this morning, but We had to wait for term to end officially before setting off."

"Umbridge is absolutely livid that you lot disappeared right under her nose so good job there" Ella said smiling at them.

"even though Dumbledore told her Mr. Weasley was in St. Mungo’s, and he’d given you all permission to
visit. So . . .” Hermione added as she sat down next to Ginny, and the two girls and Ron looked up at Harry whilst Ella stayed stood beside him. “How’re you feeling?” asked Hermione.

“Fine,” said Harry stiffly.

Nice try Harold. I've known you since I was seven" Ella said nudging him slightly.

“Oh, don’t lie, Harry,” Hermione said impatiently. “Ron and Ginny say you’ve been hiding from everyone since you got back from St. Mungo’s.”

“They do, do they?” said Harry, glaring at Ron and Ginny. Ron looked down at his feet but Ginny seemed quite unabashed.

“Well, you have!” she said. “And you won’t look at any of us!”

“It’s you lot who won’t look at me!” said Harry angrily.

“Maybe you’re taking it in turns to look and keep missing each other,” suggested Hermione, the corners of her mouth twitching.

“Very funny,” snapped Harry, turning away.
