Tanaka's POV
'Shit! I'm late!' I thought to myself as I flew faster and faster to get to the school. I flew down and saw that my entire class was gathered outside. "Hey! Sorry I'm late!" I exclaimed as I landed.
Everyone looked at me with grim expressions and I realized that I came in during a serious conversation. "Anyway, look sharp everyone, let's get inside," Aizawa stated.
Katsuki 'tsked' and grabbed Kaminari, dragged him into the bushes, and made him electrocute himself until he went stupid. I smiled and realized why he did that as I made my way toward my friends. "Hey, thank you again for saving me and Katsu that night," I stated with a slight bow.
They all blushed and Midoriya stammered, "O-of course, Tanaka!"
We walked inside and I gasped, "This place is huge!"
"Alright, there are five floors, the first floor is dedicated to your living spaces and the other four are for your rooms. Boys on the right, girls on the left," Aizawa stated.
We walked through the building and I that my room assignment was on the top floor next to Yaoyorozu. I walked up there and opened the door to see all of my boxes already there with my furniture. I smirked and said, "Alright, let's get started."
.
.
.
About three hours later, I plopped down onto my bed and looked around my room with satisfaction.
On the right side of my room, there's a nightstand, a full-sized bed, and a desk at the foot of it. On the left, there's a bookshelf, a small table, and a TV that was mounted on the wall. The walls had posters of heroes like Miruko and Ryukyu and above my desk, there was a cork board that was covered in photos of me and Keigo and a spare few of me with my classmates, like when we were at I-Island. I looked down at my arms and noticed the scar that I hate the most. The heart that was surrounded by a burn. Toga carved a heart into my flesh and Dabi burned the area around the skin, and now it'll be there forever. A permanent reminder of the torture I endured and the people who tortured me.
I sighed and lay back on my bed before I heard a soft grumble come from my stomach. "I'm hungry..." I muttered to myself before pulling myself off of my bed and to the elevator.
I rode the elevator down to the first floor, but when the doors opened, my eyes met the eye of someone else. The eye was blue, that same damned blue. "Still hiding, doll?"
I gasped and backed up, my wings folding around my body as my back hit the back of the elevator. "N-no!" I screamed, hiding my face in my arms as I slid down the wall into a sitting position.
"Tanaka...?" I heard a familiar voice ask.
I hesitantly moved my arms away to see that Dabi was nowhere to be found, but Todoroki was standing in front of the elevator. He was staring at me with a hint of concern in his gray and blue eyes. I gulped and said, "S-sorry..."
"It's ok. You're probably experiencing post traumatic stress disorder. It's perfectly natural after what you just went through. If you ever need to talk, me and our friends are always here," Todoroki stated as he held out a hand to help me up.
I nodded and took his hand, my eyes never once leaving his blue eye. "What was that scream?" Kirishima asked as he walked around the corner.
I lowered my head in shame, "Tanaka thought I was someone else," Todoroki confessed as he pulled me up.
Kirishima's eyes softened and he nodded, "Well the girls proposed that we judge each other's rooms. You wanna join?"
Todoroki and I nodded, my eyes gluing themselves to Todoroki's blue eye again. 'I mean, blue is a rare color but it's not unheard of... and fire... it's probably just a weird coincidence.' I thought to myself, forcing my eyes elsewhere.
We started the room contest with Midoriya's room that was filled with just as much, if not more All Might merch as when I went to his house to study. We went through the rooms one by one till I noticed that Katsu wasn't in the group. 'I guess it is past 8:30... he's probably heading to bed,' I thought to myself, recalling his family's early bedtime.
I guess I got so lost in thought that I didn't notice that we were looking at the girl's rooms as well until we were standing in front of my door. I sighed and opened it, "After this, I'm probably going to hit the hay. I'm pretty tired."
The class invaded my room and quite a few commented on its design and cuteness. "Come on I wanna see baby pictures!" Mina squealed as she scanned my photos.
I chuckled nervously, "I never really had any..."
No one really heard me as they then left my room to continue judging the other rooms, but I decided to stay behind and go to bed. 'I hope I don't have a nightmare...' I thought to myself.
.
.
.
I woke with a shriek, my body tense, a cold sweat covering my body. I ran my hands through my hair and took a deep, shaky breath. "He's not here..." I reassured myself as I slid out of bed and walked out into the hallway, lighting one of my feathers and flying it just in front of me to use it for light.
I walked into the elevator, hugging my body and staring at the metallic walls around me "He's not here..."
The door opened and I shuffled out of the elevator, my makeshift light floating ahead of me. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a glass, turning the light on so I could return my feather to my wing. "He's not here... he's not here..." I muttered to myself as I filled the cup with water.
"Who's not here?"
I screamed, jumping as I turned around to face whoever was behind me. "Fuck... Kirishima don't scare me like that!" I whisper-shouted.
"Sorry, are you ok?" he asked.
"I'm fine. What are you doing up?" I asked.
"I couldn't sleep. I have a hard time sleeping in new places," he explained.
I nodded and took a sip of my glass. "So what are you doing awake?" he asked.
I raised the glass and said, "Thirsty..."
Kirishima nodded and asked, "Sorry if this is nosy, but who were you talking about?"
My mind wandered to my nightmare, causing my body to shiver uncomfortably. "No one..." I muttered.
Kirishima deflated slightly and said, "Ok... well just know that I am here for you."
I chuckled, "Everyone keeps saying that..."
"'Cause it's true! We all care about you and want to help you," he said.
I stared at him for a moment before I chuckled, "Thanks Kirishima..."
He gave me a bright smile and said, "Well, we should probably go to bed, there's training tomorrow."
I nodded and finished my glass, walking back to the elevator. Before the elevator closed, Kirishima held his hand out to stop the door. "Tanaka?" Kirishima said.
I hummed and he said, "If you ever want to talk about your nightmares to someone, I'm here."
I was stunned silent, watching as he let the door go and as it closed.
'Everyone is so nice to me...'
