Don't you feel like throwing a hot cup of coffee on someone's face? Or at least feel the uncontrollable urge to punch them in the gut?
Well that's how my boss makes me feel.

I do respect the hierarchy but, respect should be an equal give and take thing. You don't respect me? Then You don't deserve to be respected by me either, simple.

Fortunately this town has lots of beautiful places and the best café ever, where I can go and take a short break to maintain the little to no sanity I have left.

In the beginning, the best thing about the café I usually go to was people minding their own business but it's been a few days , I can feel someone's gaze on me. It doesn't creep me out but still.

Yesterday I did catch a glimpse of the face behind those eyes. It was a young lady, sitting right in front of me at a decent distance. She looked adorable in those sweaters and that hair bun.

What I haven't stopped laughing about is the way she panicked upon getting caught staring at me again, adorable.

Maybe I should try asking her why she never strikes a conversation instead? I'll leave earlier today so that I can steal a few extra minutes of peace for myself, under the gaze of a staring enthusiast.

I entered the café at 6 a.m. sharp, with the entrance bells chiming behind. They do make a lovely sound though. I ordered my usual strong black coffee and sat near the window to wait for... Her? Am i?

Weird but I do want to know her reasons for gazing at me. I don't think someone would find a man in his early 30's, who has a resting grumpy face, wears glasses that make him look nerdy, not at all social- interesting enough to be stared at.

The bells chimed again, intruding my thoughts. I wanted to turn my head around to see if it's her but I didn't. I could just feel it... That she has arrived.

She took her seat near the window and thanked Amy, who always serves her order with a warm smile. All of my courage and casual outlook on walking up to her and talking, went out of that big glass window.

I felt tongue tied. My hand that held the cup of coffee just hung in the air, a few inches away from my mouth.

She picked up her book and indulged herself. Her eyelashes make her eyes look even prettier. Just in time I saw Amy walking by, giving me a mischievous grin. Wait, no! Stop giving people the wrong idea, Yash!

I diverted my attention back to my coffee before my eyes felt a strong pull towards her face again. She must love reading... The spark in her eyes just gives it away. I suppose it's better not to disturb her reading session.

While staring out of the window I felt relaxed. The stillness that flows into the gusts of wind here, is something rare to find somewhere else. I took the last sip of my strong coffee and felt pinned under that familiar gaze again.

"Hey?"

I said, staring back at her. Those obsidian eyes went wide and the book slipped off from her grip.

"Sorry... I am not a creep trust me, I just... I don't know. I won't do this again, Promise."

Her breath hitched. She said the whole sentence in one go, looking wide eyed. Getting up from my chair, I headed towards her table to pick up the book for her.

"I thought you loved your book more than anything, Miss...?"

I brushed the cover to get rid of any dust particles and pushed it in her direction. That pastel colored bow looks pretty in her hair.

"Aashi. And I do love my book, of course. Why would you say that?"

Aashi... that means blessing, joy. It suits her well.
She took that book from me, her fingertips lightly brushed against mine.

"Because, why wouldn't you pick up your book first? Believe me, I don't think of you as a creep."

The corner of her peach tinted lips tugged upwards and her gaze turned lower before she smiled a little wider.

"You could have just said 'Hi'? Although I do agree that my face instantly makes people feel unwelcomed at certain times."

Woah, Yash? Just a few seconds ago I felt awkward and now I'm acting like I never heard of social anxiety.

"No, you don't look like that. You're quite good looking for a matter of fact. I just didn't get enough time, I guess."

Good? Looking? People around here are too kind. But it makes sense though, I am on my way to the exit as soon as she's here. Which reminds me that I must leave soon yet again.

"Let me say it now then? Hello, stranger! Would you like to have a cup of coffee with me?"

Her smile stretched to the fullest, revealing a heartwarming sight to my eyes. I couldn't help but smile back at her.
