To witness her brother's first ride felt sacred as she followed behind him, watching as the wind had hit his hair, and a smile had illuminated his face. It was the first time he got to experience his birthright as a Targaryen, and to join his other siblings in being able to command and tame a dragon. Vhagar would be his for life, and what a beast to have claimed.
When Aemond finally left Vhagar's side and joined his sister, their hands entwined with another, eyes alight and words flurrying from their lips in a hurry. He couldn't get over the rush of it all, the excitement and adrenaline that flooded his veins; and Nyra was happy to stand there and listen to it all with a grin on her own.
She knew what it felt like to ride a dragon and to be able to command it, and for years she had waited for her brother to be able to join her in that. Now they could all ride in the evenings, teasing one another from dragonback. "I rode a dragon!" He uttered in disbelief. "I actually rode a dragon!"
"I know you did, Aemond! I was there!" She said to him over and over, laughing gleefully as the sound echoed across the tunnel walls. "Now you can rub it in Aegon's face that you have the largest dragon in the world, and that Sunfyre is no match." It was often a topic of debate around the table.
He smirked, shaking his head. "It's them!" A voice cried out from further on, their smiles dropping as the two children looked further ahead at the entrance. Baela and Rhaena were standing at the door, Jace and Luc behind them. They must have seen them riding and came to investigate.
Aemond rose a brow. "It's us." He confirmed.
"Vhagar is my mother's dragon, you have no right to claim her!" Rhaena hissed at him, clearly angry at what had happened.
Nyra frowned. "Vhagar was free to be claimed, Rhaena. You cannot get upset if someone got there before you." She tried to ease, stepping in front of her brother.
"She was mine to claim, Nyra. Not some Prince that had never been around her!" She tried to argue back.
"Then you should have claimed her." Aemond said, a new power in his voice. "Maybe your cousins would be so gracious and find you a pig to ride instead." Nyra's shoulders softened in disappointment at what Aemond had said, but Rhaena came charging, hands clasping onto Aemond's arms. He threw her down to the ground before facing the next sister, her punch being quicker than her sister's, landing it firmly on his cheek as Aemond was sent to the ground.
Nyra didn't like the thought of placing her hands on another person, she had no training in the matter, but she wasn't about to let some girls get one over on her brother. Nyra reached out to push Baela, sending her hurtling to the floor instead as Nyra towered over her. "Stop this!" She argued. "There is no need to fight like this over a dragon!"
