Dazai kept his word.
Well, for the most part. There was one time.
The very next day.
"Hey Chuuya," a familiar voice cooed, "You sure you won't come to volunteer with me?"
The brown haired man had snuck up behind Chuuya in class, and he now ruffled his hair, much to Chuuya's chagrin.
"No," he hissed, and he kept it at that.
Just because he was maybe- well, kind of- sort of- reconsidering how he felt about Dazai, did not mean he should give in so easily. And it did not mean that he wanted to go volunteer to wrangle random wild creatures.
"Ah, fine. Bye then."
Dazai mussed his hair once more time, to which Chuuya tried to hit his hand, before he walked away.
Chuuya didn't ask him to stay. He wasn't sure he was ready. He wasn't sure what he wanted.
Did he like the guy, or not?
Sighing in frustration, he turned back to his notes.
After class, Chuuya went to the vending machine, getting a black coffee and sipping on it as he leaned against the glass, looking at nothing in particular.
All of a sudden, none other than Dazai came into view, and he wasn't alone, either.
Chuuya hid next to the vending machine, watching him.
Dazai was with two other guys, one with silver hair, and one with messy dark hair who was eating a lollipop.
Chuuya had to admit he was interested, but the little pang in his chest was new.
Who were these people? Friends? Roommates?
Then he caught sight of the silver-haired one's t-shirt. The same one Dazai wore to class, Project Fauna.
So, coworkers, then. Or... co-volunteers.
Chuuya watched them until they were out of sight. They appeared to get along well, talking and laughing as they walked.
