The Power of One Dream (A One Piece x Fairy Tail Story)

Part 40

It had been about 2 weeks since the Mugiwara had first arrived in Fiore. There had been non-stop celebration uniting Wizard guilds from across the continent of Ishgar among other esteemed personalities, all in the little Town of Magnolia. Not least thanks to the two official Wizard guilds, and their surprising pirate allies, who saved the Magical Kingdom from the menace of one of the most nefarious threats to its borders since the Alvarez Army. And in no small part thanks to the Holy Union of one of those very Pirates and the other who had already achieved the impossible, and captured his heart.

But after several days of winding down from celebration, and winding up again with a lot of infighting (Mugiwara, Heart Pirates, Kid Pirates, Fairies and Sabretooths alike), that bittersweet sensation could not be denied. Fingers were itchy, eyebrows twitched, and three pirate captains were on edge. They and their respective crews could clearly hear the vast ocean calling once again.

The time of the last leg of each of their respective journeys had come. To sail to Laugh Tale. To find the One Piece. And to claim the much coveted title of 'King of the Pirates'!

And so three proud ships awaited, docked in the largest port depot of Hargeon Town. Three captains and their respective crews readying themselves to bring their time in Fiore to a close. One captain in particular and his teary-eyed wife bracing themselves to end their adventure in this Country of Magic the way it began. In that strange, new and exciting port surrounded by friends.

Those Mages who had worked closest with the Mugiwara and the other pirate crews in the fight against Manticore Sting, stood before the crews endeavouring to remain stoically composed while offering their fond farewells. Largely a pointless endeavour for some, particularly for a certain Take-Over Mage and a Cyborg as a show of their eternal bond of SUPER Manliness, and especially for a pirate cook and a pirate musician having to say goodbye to so many gorgeous women. Nevertheless the Wizards of Fairy Tail, and of Sabretooth, and especially one Honorary Sabretooth Member (once again fully-clothed in his standard attire) with horns held high and misty honey-brown eyes shining with pride, couldn't keep the smiles off their faces as they reminisced shared adventures and reaffirmed bonds.

Nami and Robin were quickly enveloped in tight embraces by Lucy and Levi respectively (when she wasn't holding hands with Gajeel), soon merging into a group hug with most of the Fairy women along with an overly-enthusiastic Sky Dragon Slayer and White Exceed hugging the tightest. Said Sky Dragon Slayer did however spare a bright smile for a certain humanoid reindeer which he reciprocated warmly. Ussop stood proud and exchanged salutes with Wendy (once she'd disentangled herself from the group hug), along with Charle, Romeo, Pantherlily and Asuka beside her. The Sniper openly shedding tears of pride in the young minds and hearts he'd partly inspired, who reminded him so much of his own cadets in the 'Vegi Pirates' back home in Syrup Village in the East Blue eagerly awaiting the return of their Brave Captain someday.

Around the same time, Erza gave Zoro a certain look and a smile, which he reciprocated with an understanding nod and a hand on Enma's hilt. Sanji and Gray met each other's gaze a moment, this time acknowledging each other without the same hostility, but with a better understanding of one another. And Sanji offering a knowing smile especially towards Juvia currently clung tight to Gray's arm (a gesture Gray both acknowledged and didn't shy away from). Luffy and Natsu linked arms with confident grins and gleams in each pair of eyes, both silently vowing never again to give up on their respective ambitions. For Luffy of course to beat 'Tra-Guy' and 'Jaggy' to the One Piece, and to beat anyone else who'd dare to claim the mantle of 'Pirate King' before he could. And for Natsu, nothing more or less than to grow ever stronger and seek out new adventures alongside his friends. Before either knew it though, both were wrapped tight in Yamato's bone-crushing arms.
