(A/N: Warning: Gray being a jerk in this chapter.)

Later that night, Nami found herself supported by (or rather supporting) a thoroughly drunk Lucy, and a paralytically drunk Robin, as the three women waddled to Lucy's apartment. Lucy had kindly offered the pirate women to bunk at her place before they continued on their journey to Laugh Tale, stating it was nice to be able to invite new friends over (as opposed to them just appearing in her lounge, bedroom or bathroom). And honestly, it was nice for Nami to have a warm bed on stationary ground for the night. Actually, it was just nice to enjoy a (relative) moment's quiet. Nami, perhaps foolishly assuring Robin that her friends shouldn't NOT drink just because she couldn't in her current state, had been a little overwhelmed with Robin's attempt to teach the Fairy girls the lyrics to 'Binks' Sake' (which they all attempted to sing in various stages of drunken off-keyness).

The pirate men in contrast had remained in the guildhall that night where they all fell asleep sprawled over various places on the guildhall floor, along with Natsu and some others. Which worked well enough as there was no convenient male accommodation to house them all, and it was literally impossible to rouse or move them from where they slept (particularly Luffy and Natsu after their eating contest rematch (and the re-rematch)). It felt strange now to Nami not to be sleeping beside her beloved idiot, after the past 8 or so months since their relationship had finally blossomed. But still, she was confident that at the least Chopper, Sanji and Ussop, as well as their new friends in Fairy Tail, could keep him out of trouble for one night (she hoped so anyway).

In any case, by the time the women had reached Lucy's apartment and prepared themselves for bed, they had all opened up to each other like they were best friends from childhood. Robin finally voicing her complicated feelings towards a certain someone (which Nami had suspected as much for sometime). And Lucy confessing her own towards another certain someone (which Nami had guessed at pretty much straight after meeting them). It was funny thinking that only after meeting that day, they had become so close. And eager as she was to return to Luffy's warm embrace, she savoured these experiences with friends old and new, knowing she would treasure the memories of her many adventures for the rest of her days, and one day proudly retell them to her own child. She fell asleep that night peacefully sharing a bed with Lucy while Robin slept on the sofa. All dreaming of what their respective futures might hold.

All blissfully unaware of the shadows that fell over them.

[Time-Skip, the following morning]

"Mmmmm, Nami, the meat you cook is the best! (Snore) But don't tell Sanji, alright." Luffy sleepily declared savouring his dream meal.

"(Snore) Make mine with a side of fire." Natsu added still deep in slumber. "Don't forget some yummy fish for me!" murmured Happy, curled up on Natsu's head.

"Mm, what, whose cooked meat? NAMI!?"

Sanji awoke suddenly with inexplicable sense of foreboding. His gaze spread over his slowly rousing companions sprawled over the guildhall floor, until it met an icy glare. "Morning Ice Mage." Sanji said flatly. "Morning pirate." Gray replied just as coldly, before trying (and failing) to stifle a yawn. He perhaps got the least amount of sleep of all the Fairy Tail men, watching the Mugiwara like a hawk all night as well as seeing things and hearing words exchanged between the drunk Fairy women, that he could never unsee or unhear. But he wasn't going to tell the pirate chef that.

"Morning, gentlemen.." Mirajane declared brightly, carrying mugs and a pot of coffee. "I'll be opening up the guildhall soon, so I'll need you all out of the way while I spruce up. But first, you all look like you could use a 'pick-me-up'. Especially you Mr. Night Watchman." she added cheekily to Gray.
