Bonus Chapter 4: Snow Fairy

[5 Years Later]

After countless hours of painful labour, she finally held the fruits of that labour in her arms. One blonde newborn baby girl in her right arm, one blonde newborn baby boy in her left, now cleaned up and sleeping soundly in their mother's tender embrace. On her bed in that Delivery Room Suite, it really felt like she was living the dream she'd been waiting for so long to come true.

5 years ago 'Team Natsu' made new friends from foreign seas and faced and defeated enemies old and new. Then a short time after that Lucy Heartfilia officially published her book (which reached critical national acclaim despite not winning many awards), took on a quest about as old as the oldest Magic Guild in Fiore and encountered a new breed of Dragon Slayer and even Five Dragon GODS among other wonders! Together they had faced trials, tribulations and heartache. But perhaps the toughest and ultimately the most rewarding of all challenges for a certain Fire Dragon Slayer... was finally confronting his feelings for a certain Celestial Wizard. And to finally confess those feelings, to which she joyfully (and tearfully) affirmed. And from there incredible new adventures would follow, not least of all the marriage they'd unknowingly been waiting their whole lives for. And from that, a new addition to their family: the fruition of their undying love.

True, even before Master Makarov officially retired as Fairy Tail's central figurehead and his grandson Laxus took over as official 9th Master, the Wizard's Guild had seen a lot of new relationships bloom. Not least that between Laxus and Mirajane which few saw coming but all were altogether happy for. Then there was Gray and Juvia, Erza and Jellal, Levi and Gajeel even earlier, and even Lisanna and Bickslow finally got their act together! And true most of these pairings had seen some pretty darn adorable babies. But to Natsu Dragneel, even if it wasn't technically a competition, his family unit was the Most Adorable hands down. Speaking of which...

"You're amazing Luce..." Natsu cooed softly with an arm supporting Lucy Dragneel, face gushing with pride as he looked from his weary but smiling wife to the two newest additions to their family. "...And they're amazing too. They're gonna do amazing things one day, just like their Big Sister...", "Well maybe Nashi should come in and give us her input." Lucy giggled sweetly. And then she called softly, "Wendy. You can bring them in now."

The door to the suite opened and a slightly struggling-not-to-burst-with-excitement 19-year-old Wendy Marvel walked gracefully in, with her mentor/foster parental figure Porlyusica following close behind her. Lucy would never cease to be amazed at how far her young friend had come along. As a medical student and Assistant Midwife under the Elder Healer Mage, and as a young woman. Lucy didn't for an instant regret asking for her personally to help with the delivery, and by the look on Wendy's face she was glad Lucy did. She knew she could always entrust hers and her precious bundles' safety into the Sky Dragon Slayer's capable hands. Now if only Lucy could motivate her to actually ask Romeo out on a date 😉

From Wendy's left the long-time mated Happy and Charle flew into the room with their own kittens, Harmony, Melody and Joy in tow. "Hi there Kiddies. I'm your Big Bro Happy. This is Big Sis Charle and our own kiddies. And we're totally psyched to welcome you into our family." The Blue Exceed cooed softly to the slumbering infants whilst his Lady Love glowed with motherly pride. Their own children on the other paw quickly grew bored and zoomed around the room for anything else that looked fun to play with.

And holding Wendy's right hand, the salmon-pink-haired 3-and-a-half-year-old girl beside her looked on with a suspect frown at the little bundles absorbing her parents' attention.

"Nashi... Come say hello to your little brother and sister..." Lucy called gently to her eldest daughter with a smile. Nashi Layla Dragneel's frown didn't disappear despite her mother's warmth, nor did her grip on Wendy's hand lessen as if she needed all the security she could get. "Can't they be two little sisters?" she asked with a disappointed pout. "That's not really how it works Sweetie." Lucy answered smiling patiently. "Yeah, Nash'. They are who they are. And they're perfect just as they are, just like you..." Her father reassured her with his signature grin. "...And hey! We can always try for twin girls next time-"
