Ann, Andy, and Wormy were holding each other in fear. The silhouette approached to open the window a little

–You can't escape from us anymore, Werner...– said the silhouette, which had a hoarse voice

The silhouette closed the window before another thunder sounded, illuminating him for a few seconds; he looked like a toy from Pinocchio, but with a painted mustache, a gangster suit and a cigar in his hand. After that thunder, that mysterious toy disappeared

Ann and Andy looked at each other for a moment, until they noticed a nervous and irregular breathing in Wormy -...T...they found me...- he said between his scared breaths

–They found you?– Ann repeated, worried –Who?–

Wormy separated from both of them to run to the window –Excuse me, guys, but I have to go...I'm not going to let them do anything to you, they only want me...– he said as he opened the window, the drops of rains began to sound louder 

–Wormy, what the hell are you talking about!?– Andy asked, confused and scared at the same time. The Raggedys had already approached the window to try to find out what was wrong with Wormy

–Sorry, guys...– Wormy sighed and his gaze turned serious –...But I can't let my life interfere with yours...– and with those words, he climbed out the window using the bricks as ladder 

–Wormy!– Andy yelled, breaking away from Ann to look out the window, but there was no sign of Wormy, he was already gone

Andy was starting to gasp in fear, he wanted to know what was wrong with Wormy and he was starting to stress over thinking that something bad was going to happen to him. He got down from the edge of the window and approached Ann –Ann, we have to go find him!–

Ann took Andy's arm –Andy, we can't, it would be too risky for people to see us...–

Ann couldn't finish, as Andy cut her off as he wrestled his hand off her arm –That doesn't matter now, Ann! Something bad could happen to Wormy and you don't seem to care!– The stress was making Andy angry, he just wanted to go out and help his love interest

Ann was surprised to see how her brother contradicted her so abruptly, she began to stress –Of course I care about Wormy, Andy! I'm just afraid that something could happen to us! That something could happen to YOU!–

–But when Babette was kidnapped you jumped into the adventure without even thinking about the danger, right!?–

–By the needle that sewed us, Andy! This is very different from that!–

Ann and Andy's tone became increasingly angry. Babette was about to separate them and make sense to them, until this happened:

–Oh yeah!? Well, I wish they had never put that candy heart on you!– Andy clenched his fists in anger, while Ann was preparing to return the anger 

–And I wish you had never changed your gender, Audrey!– That sentence froze everyone. Ann couldn't believe what she had just said, so she covered her mouth. Andy's jaw was wide open in surprise, his eyes starting to glaze over

But Andy only gave Ann a serious look before he turned and went back to the window

–W-wait, Andy... I-I...– Ann tried to stop him, but Andy interrupted her again

–No, it's okay, Ann, I...– Andy sobbed before grabbing onto his hat and running –Leave me alone!–

Tears began to fall down Ann's cheeks as she sobbed

–Ann...are you okay?– Babette said, moving closer to Ann to try to comfort her

Ann only hugged Babette tightly to start crying loudly, she returned that hug –What did I just do, Babette!? WHAT DID I JUST DO!? – Ann said, from that volume it was obvious that she was scolding herself. Ann and Andy had sworn that neither of them would suffer anymore since they would have each other's protection, but at that moment that oath had been broken by their anger...

Meanwhile, in an alley near where Marcella's family was located, there was Wormy, hugging his knees as he listened to the heavy rain

Wormy sighed –Well done, Werner, you just lost an opportunity to be friends with people who actually don't consider you useless... – he commented sadly

–...Useless?– asked a voice, at that moment a thunder was heard

Wormy was startled and yelled at the thunder, but was surprised to see who it was –...Andy?–

Andy sobbed with teary eyes to get closer to Wormy –Do you mind if I join you?–

Wormy patted the vacant spot to his right, Andy sat next to him, also hugging his knees and looking wistful –I-I don't understand...W-what are you doing here?–

–Well...The fact is that when you left, Ann and I discussed whether we should go look for you...That discussion ended in a fight, and now I'm hurt...– Andy sobbed again, a couple of tears running down his cheeks

–Has a fight hurt you so much?–

–It's not just a fight, Wormy... It was our first fight...– Ann and Andy had a really sweet sibling relationship, they both supported each other and loved each other very much, so for them that fight it was a great pain in their hearts

–Oh...– Wormy was a little surprised, and then he was sad again –I'm sorry for you...–

–Don't worry, it's not your fault...– Andy took out of his pants the paper daisy that Ann made for him, the one he always took everywhere for good luck

Wormy glanced at the paper daisy –What is that?–

–Ah, it's a paper daisy, Ann gave it to me...–

–Would you mind explaining to me the value of your paper flower?–

–Only if you let me vent a bit by telling why Ann is so important to me–

–...Alright- Andy sighed before speaking -Well, look, a couple of years ago, when I was still in Sector A of the Raggedy rag doll factory, my name wasn't Andrew...My name used to be Audrey, but people nicknamed me Andy...–

Let's see, I'm not trans, but I'll try my best to make Andy's gender change feel realistic, not only because I have trans friends, but also because I would like to reflect a little bit how trans people sometimes feel when they don't want to be a gender anymore and their insecurities (also, since I'm part of the LGBT community, I'll shoot myself if I don't do it right)

I repeat: I'm not trans, but I'll do my best to capture what the little trans people I love so much feel <3
