"Shall I give up my job as council member to be your partner and the king of the SandWing." Anole asked "why not." Sahara said as the 2 looked at the sky again thinking about their future together. "I want at least 3 dragonets if your alright with it." Anole said after a while Sahara nodded in agreement and smiled lovingly at Anole. They had been secret lovers for quite a while now, sneaking moments together whenever they could. Anole was a prominent council member in the SandWing kingdom, respected and admired by many, but his heart belonged to the beautiful queen, Sahara. The two dragons stood in the royal garden, surrounded by colorful flowers and gentle gusts of wind. The moon was shining brightly, casting a magical glow upon them. Their conversation, however, held an air of uncertainty. Anole was torn between his duty to the SandWing kingdom and his desire to be with Sahara. "Actually I-I am in love already," Sahara stammered in response to Anole's incredulous question. Her normally composed demeanor wavered, revealing her vulnerability. Anole, his scales shimmering like grains of sand caught in the sunlight, persisted, "With who, Sahara?" His voice carried an air of desperate curiosity, grasping tightly at the sand between his talons. Sahara's black eyes locked with Anole's in a rare moment of pure honesty. "It's a girl, for moons sake," she bellowed, making her declaration even more extraordinary. How could the queen, the embodiment of tradition and order, dare to love someone of the same gender? Anole's breath caught in his throat, his mind racing to catch up with the tide of emotions crashing around them. He had unquestionably challenged the norms of their society, but this was far beyond anything he had ever expected. Though initially taken aback by the turn of events, Anole's natural sense of loyalty and friendship prevailed over bigotry. He let out a sigh, his tone softening. "What's her name?" he asked, his voice barely audible above the swirling desert wind. Sahara, her heart a whirlwind of emotions, looked away for a moment, gathering her thoughts. Turning back to face Anole, she answered in a voice filled with unwavering determination, "Her name is Dragonfruit." Sahara said. Anole blinked, his mind racing to reconcile the image of the strong and regal Queen Sahara in love with the RainWing queen named Dragonfruit. The enormity of the situation hit him like a sandstorm. He realized that he had been so immersed in prejudice and tradition that he had forgotten the true essence of being a SandWing - bravery, loyalty, and unity. Breaking the silence that had enveloped them, Anole took a step forward and gently placed a claw on Sahara's shoulder. "Your grace," he began, using a tone filled with empathy and understanding, "Love knows no boundaries. It cannot be contained or controlled, and it certainly doesn't adhere to societal expectations." Anole said. A mix of relief and gratitude washed over Sahara's face as she realized Anole's acceptance and support. She nodded slowly, recognizing the truth in his words. Together, they made a silent pact to face the challenges that lay ahead. They would defy the constraints of tradition and prejudice, championing love and acceptance within the kingdom. Anole, once a fierce skeptic, transformed into an advocate for diversity and understanding. The love between Sahara and Dragonfruit bloomed openly but discreetly, like the delicate and rare desert flowers that blossomed at twilight. With Anole by their side, the queen and her beloved brought a new era of acceptance and compassion to the SandWing kingdom, forever changing the hearts and minds of its inhabitants. And as their story spread like whispers through the shifting sands of the desert, other dragons learned that love, in all its forms, had the power to unite even the most divided of worlds.
