Sahara's throne room was filled with tension as she sat upon her seat, her scales glistening in the dim light. The members of her court were gathered before her, their faces stern and serious. "I demand freedom!" Anole, the former SandWing guard and longtime advisor to the queen, shouted, his voice echoing off the stone walls. "I have been unfairly imprisoned for doing what was necessary to protect our kingdom!" Cactus, the court's chief justice, cleared his throat before speaking. "Anole, the court has heard your plea and considered the evidence presented. We have come to a decision." Vermilion spoke up next. "The court finds you guilty of imprisoning King Puffin of the SeaWings, a completely innocent dragon." Apple nodded in agreement. "Yes, it is clear that you acted rashly and without proper justification. Your actions brought shame to our kingdom and put innocent lives at risk." Sahara leaned forward, her eyes narrowing. "And so, the court sentences you to death." Anole's face paled, shock and disbelief written across his features. "What?! But I was only trying to do what was best for our kingdom!" Cactus continued, his voice unyielding. "Your methods may have been misguided, but the consequences of your actions are not subject to debate. You will pay the price for your crimes." As the guards took Anole away, Sahara turned to her remaining advisors. "See that this sentence is carried out immediately. We cannot allow such treason to go unpunished." The courtroom fell silent, the weight of the sentence hanging heavy over all present. It was clear that no mercy would be shown, and that the fate of Anole was sealed.
