Time skip

It was quite a while since the bear accident. They had walked for a long time before they found a beautiful place near the river. It was under a tree. They had been living there for a few months and its near the end of the summer.
Kuu and his mother have done a lot of bonding. Their bond was already strong, but they had to have some time without fear and chaos.

The tree was really beatifull, some of its branches reached the ground but it was still see-through. It was like a paradise.

For past few days the water in the river has been rising, and that was making you nervous. If it kept rising, it would sooner or later flood the hollow in the tree. It was really weird, there should be no reason for the water to rise.

You didn't eat for a while, you were ly
lying down and watching Kuu play with butterlfies, occasionaly glancing at ther river. This is too suspicious, you decided you would be moving again, lot of wierd things have been happenning lately, it's not so safe anymore.

"Kuu, you're dirty, come wash in the river and we will be moving."

The water has not rised for three hours, so it shouldn't now. There are still little fish and tiny fast crabs, which means there is nothing wrong with the water itself. Plus if you were to clean Kuu yourself it would take a while since he fell into mud.

"What? Why?"

Kuu asked. 'It was so beatifull here, and there haven't been any attacks, so why?' He did notice the water rising, he just did not see it as a big proplem 'cause he thought maybe somwhere else rained a lot.
Even though he trusted his mother and knew she had a reason, he wanted to know what's wrong.

"There are suspicious things going around here honey, it is too wierd."

You reasoned. It was new that Kuu wanted to know more when it came to serious things like this, but you completly understood.

Kuu nodded and you both got to the river. He washed and splashed the water everywhere. He has learned how to swim in the early times of your stay. He's getting good, but he's still a pup.

You had to be only on the side in the shallows, the deep water is dangerous for little wolf cubs.

Once you were done you got out, dried Kuu with your tongue and prepared for your departure.

3rd POV

Y/n and Kuu had taken some steps from their temporary home, both taking few last looks at it.

Then they looked at each other, and
Y/n smiled.

Kuu gave his mother a confused look, until she rushed from the spot and laughed here and there.
Kuu stood still for another moment before he got it. He also smilled and ran after his mother chasing her with joy.

It was a clever way of making Kuu forget that they were yet again leaving the place they've grown close to. The tree could only watch (if it had any eyes) how the wolf duo disappeared in the distance, their bodies getting lost the forest.

The mother son wolves were playing tag until the noon of that day. Then it was time for hunting.
However luck wasn't on Y/n's side, not even a squirell or a rabit.

The annoyed she-wolf kicked over a small rock, not being able to find or sniff any food. Her pup after her, looking around for anything to help his mother at least a little bit.

They weren't successful, it seems like hunger would be the case today.
So they continued their journy to the unknown, but it was better than being flooded.
The older wolf has been thinking about it still. 'It doesn't make sense, there has been barely any rain last few weeks. And nothing is blocking the flow of water dozens of meters downstream of the river, I saw it myself when hunting.'
Those thoughts were running in the wolf's head as chirping of birds could be heard.

She stopped thinking about it and decided to clear her head by taking in all the nature. The grass under their paws, with colorful decorations, the leaves rustling on the tall trees covering the sky, and her little son admiring some beatifull flowers he never saw before, examining them in awe.

She smiled to herself. As long as there was peace and she had her son with her, everything would be okay.
