Ruby decided then and there that Silver was a rather strict but fair teacher. He had his team wake up at seemingly ungodly hours of the morning, meditate for ten minutes, then do physical training where they sparred with one another and practiced the use of their Semblances. And she could say that it was totally worth it. They had all gotten so much better at covering their weaknesses. Weiss' control over her summons has improved significantly, Blake was somehow even more agile, Yang held her temper better, and Ruby herself was getting better at fighting unarmed or with Thorn.
She remembered when the team woke up and saw Blake without her bow, clearly having taken what Silver had said to heart. She knew that Yang was happy about it. She didn't hide her crush on the Cat Faunus very well.
"Okay." Silver said. "That'll do it for now. Let's get some breakfast, then head to the stadium to see the fights. Who were announced this morning?"
"Coco and Yatsuhashi vs Emerald and Mercury." Weiss replied. "Personally, I'm rooting for Team CFVY."
"Yeah, well... We'll see." Silver said, looking and sounding distracted.
"Silver?" Ruby asked. "Is something on your mind?"
"Ask me about it after our battle." Silver replied, giving his sister a reassuring smile. "Now c'mon, let's get going. Ready to show the world who you are, Blake?"
"As ready as I'll ever be..." Blake muttered, now suddenly very nervous.
"Don't be nervous, Blake." Yang said, putting a comforting hand on her partner's shoulder. "And hey. You have us. And if anyone gives you trouble, I'll introduce them to the concrete!"
"Violence solves nothing you brute." Weiss chastised. "But she's right. We have your back, Blake. You're our teammate, our friend. You can count on us."
"Yeah! What Weiss said!" Ruby stated.
"Heh." Silver chuckled. "We're an odd bunch, aren't we?"
"Yeah. We are." Blake replied, wiping a tear from her eye. "Thank you. All of you. Let's go eat now."
After Team RWBY finished their breakfast, they made their way to Amity Colosseum to watch the first fight of the day as the crowd bellowed their excitement. Thankfully, Silver brought his ear plugs for the event.
"Welcome back to the Vytal Festival Tournament!" Port announced. "Today, we'll be starting the Doubles Rounds!"
"Indeed, Peter, and Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black of Team CEMN have proven a long with the rest of their team that they are not to be underestimated." Oobleck added. "I'm sure many would agree with their flawless battle yesterday. But even so, they are going up against one of Vale's strongest second year teams. Yatsuhashi Daichi and Coco Adel representing Team CFVY!"
"I agree. Their battle with Team OBSN (Obsidian) was certainly impressive." Port agreed. "But let's see how they fare against their newest opponents, shall we?"
The holograms behind the four began to spin, deciding on what field the two pairs would fight in.
"Good luck you two!" Velvet cheered as Yang, Weiss and Blake watched.
The panels stopped and selected the arenas, which was a grassland, forest, urban, and shoreline themed.
"Hey." Coco said, pulling her shades down a bit. "Love the outfit, kid."
"I'll try not to get blood on it." Emerald replied confidently.
"I can't promise you'll leave without a scratch." Yatsuhashi stated as he drew his sword.
