Don't ruin this on me, I wouldn't know where to start.

Eddie has known for a while that he's probably gay. Frank finally got him to admit it in a session and in turn urged him to try out a few dating apps. Eddie didn't know about all that, he was fine admitting he was into guys, but he's in his thirties with a kid. It's not like that's the demographic on these apps.

Eventually after a long twenty-four-hour shift, in a moment that he blames on lack of sleep, he downloaded one of these apps and made a profile. His hands hovered over the "preference" options, clicking "men".

Immediately his phone screen popped up a very attractive twenty-six-year-old guy. He was on a lake boat with a cute dog. Eddie was carefully clicking through the profile and pictures, making sure not to do something dumb like "super liking"... whatever that means. Swiping his finger to the right on a few guys, soon an almost naked man popped up. Eddie locked his screen feeling as if he stumbled onto something he shouldn't see.

"This was a dumb idea" he muttered out.

Falling asleep quickly, deciding to delete the app in the morning.

That next morning he woke up to a few messages on the app. He opened it back up and the fishing boat guy, Jason, has direct messaged him.

Guess I'm going to have to start burning my dinner more often if this is what the LAFD has to offer 😳

Eddie spent the morning messaging him back and forth. Maybe he should have just deleted the dang app, then he wouldn't be in the situation he's in.

.

Eddie now stood outside of Buck's doorway, debating on knocking or not. Freaking out over the last text he has just gotten. Buck was his best friend and it would definitely help his nerves to hear some advice from him.

The door opened and Buck invited him in,

"What's up Ed's?" Buck asked a bit worried

Eddie honestly looked like he was about to have a panic attack.

"I- I might have signed up for a dating app" Eddie admitted

"Congrats, I mean it's goo-"

"I fucked up" Eddie cut off Buck.

Eddie showed him his phone, the last few messages lit up Buck's face. Buck took the phone from his hands and read through them. By the end of it, he felt a light blush creeping up on his cheeks.

"Okay Casanova" Buck laughed handing back the phone.

"I don't know what got into me, I just- I mean- he's good looking and maybe I'm a bit lonely but- I- I can't... do this" Eddie signed slumping down at the kitchen table

Buck turned around handing him over a beer bottle. Buck taking a moment to compose the right words. Knowing Eddie is flirting, dating, and possibly even hooking up with other people, especially another guy. It gutted him, he always wanted to get with Eddie, he'd been attracted to the guy since he first laid eyes on him. He would just have to assume it was never meant to be.

The day Eddie came out to Buck, he'd wanted to admit his feeling. Buck stopped himself, knowing it would be selfish to do that. That was a moment for Eddie, not a moment for Buck to ruin. Ever since then he never found the time to bring it up, so it just stayed nagging at the back of his mind.

"Come on Eddie, you will be fine" Buck shrugged

"No, I- I haven't even kissed a guy little lone hooked up with one," he said "I'm just gonna delete the app and move on"

"Don't. You've admitted you've been lonely, Chris is at a sleepover, you deserve some fun."

Eddie sighed again. Flipping his phone around in his hands. Foot tapping against the floor.
