Hey all, long time no see! :) Thank you everyone for supporting Unrecognisable in the past, present and future! I can't believe it's over 41k views now in a niche fandom!!
As some of you know from my tumblr, my first Duskwood fanfiction was a story called Haunted by the Past. Several people have encouraged me over the past few years to take a leap of faith and turn it into an original work, so that's exactly what I am doing! Of course there will be plenty of Duskwood-related Easter eggs to keep an eye out for. ;) This new version of Haunted by the Past will be darker and more mature than Duskwood so consider yourselves warned!
Chapter 1 of Haunted by the Past will be published two weeks from now on Thursday, August 31st, then a new chapter will be published every Sunday and Thursday after that. Be sure to follow me so you don't miss that notification!

As soon as I exited the old elevator in our building, I knew something was wrong. Gabe was standing in the hallway with his metal baseball bat resting over his shoulder. His face was pale, as if he had seen a ghost, but at the same time, he was poised to attack anyone who came too close. He looked over his shoulder when he heard the elevator's door close and saw me. Immediately he dropped the bat to his side and walked over, determined to stop me.
"No, no, now's not the time, Dani. Go to the store. Buy some groceries. Come back in sixty, ok?" Gabe ushered me back to the elevator.
"What the hell, Gabe? I only just finished work! I got my dinner and now I want to go eat it!" I pushed to get around him.
"No! You can't! Uh, come to my apartment! Eat there! I'll put Netflix on! We can watch whatever you want! Absolutely your choice tonight!" Gabe pressured.
"What the hell is wrong!?" I shoved him away from me.
Then I looked down the hall to my apartment door. It was rather far, so the angle was not great, but there was no mistaking it - a freshly painted '666'.
The Triple-6 Killer was back and he was back for me.
