Aimee pov :
I knew they couldn't let me fall to my death. The factions would start a riot. I knew they had to have a foam pit or something at the bottom. Or at least I was riding on that to not die. So I jumped. I was the first jumper. But what happened next I wasn't prepared for.

My body hit the cold water with a strong force, knocking me off guard. Shiz nuts. I can't swim, which is a problem when you jump off a building into a huge dark tank. I felt myself slip away further from the surface. Maybe I deserved it, I shouldn't have been so cocky, shouldn't have trusted the system, should've picked a different faction.

But this was where I was now. And I needed to fight for it. I struggled to hold on and swim to the surface. But it was no use. I was about to give up completely, slipping from conscience. The last thing I see is a black blob swimming towards my limb body as I drift off into abyss.

Kayla's pov:
Once Aimee had jumped, other people started jumping as well. But all I could do was stand there, staring, confused. Until I was the last one standing there, with the instructor staring at me expectantly. "You going to jump or what? You do know there's water at the bottom right?" He says looking at me harshly. I look up and shuffle to the ledge, not even looking back I jump off, I needed to let go of my fear. I chose this faction, now I have to live with it. No matter how much I wanted to break down and leave, joining my poor family members in faction less. I didn't.

I had been so lost in thought about my family I hadn't realized I'd been surrounded by water, quickly swimming to the edge, and climbing out. I shook out my hair and walked over to see what the fuss was about.

"Cmon, breath" a tall, tattooed boy with a lip ring said, while trying to pump air into a small girls chest. Then I realized who it was, Aimee. Others were surrounding them trying to get a glimpse of my friend struggling for life. The boy continues to give Aimee mouth to mouth as the previous instructor leads us away.

Luke's pov:
The girl's cold wet body started taking in air, and I sighed in relief. She was alive. I pushed back her wet blonde waves and took her into my arms. Carrying her to the dormitories where the others would be. She slowly opened her ocean blue eyes, and connected them with mine. "W-what, I'm so sorry, I'm sorry," she mutters trying to struggle out of my arms calling for a boy named Andy.

I felt bad but I ordered her to shut up and rest. Placing her on one of the beds assigned for the initiates. The other beds already occupied. A girl with brown hair runs up to her and pulls her closely, rushing her with questions. It's good to know someone cares for her, although I couldn't get the name Andy out of my head.. Was he her boyfriend..? Friend..? Brother..? Then it hit me.. Andrew Velasquez. He was the main leader of dauntless, and my best friend, surely the girl hadn't meant him.

Kayla's pov:
Aimee got carried in by the boy and I quickly rushed to her side to make sure she was alright. "Attention initiates!!" The boy called, everyone looked over. "I'm one of your dauntless trainers, my name is Luke. You will only call me by that." He ordered. Bossy as hell. "Nobody messes with her" he says pointing to Aimee. He then looks back at the crowd of scared looking initiates and yells "Transfers will be training with me. Dauntless born with Calum. Now get settled in, and meet in the pit in an hour for dinner. No questions asked!"

Asshole. I look down at Aimee and help her sit up, asking tons of questions if she was alright. She seemed okay until the curly haired boy walked in, smirking.
