Kayla's pov:
Aimee seemed a little shaken up, but she soon shook it off. The bandana boy.. Ashton was his name, kept flirting with me so we decided to go get ready for dinner and head over.

Aimee pulled on some black skinny jeans and a large gray sweater, while I changed into some dark shorts and t-shirt. She looked nervous, usually she would be always on her feet. Ready for adventure. But I could tell she was lacking the excitement. "Soooo, you and Luke.." I start to say in a sing song voice. "No no. It's not like that. He saved me once, and it's not like he'd like me. I'm an initiate." She says.

"What's going on Aimee..? You seem out of it." I murmur with a soft, caring voice. She insists she's just tired and we walk to the Pit, to meet with the others.

We enter and sit down with the rest of the initiates, everyone busy stuffing their faces with the food provided. "Attention, attention!!" A voice booms over the careless chatter of the dauntless. A young guy appears, eyes scanning the new dauntless. "Welcome, dauntless initiates, my name is Andy. Your dauntless leader." He yells, following with cheers and whops from the dauntless. "In dauntless we believe in ordinary acts of bravery. And we except nothing less from you. In training you shall go through two stages. Physical and mental, where we will push your bodies to the breaking point. Good luck. You chose us. So now we will choose you." And with that the guy turns to meet eyes with me and Aimee.

Aimee's pov:
As soon as I saw Andy I knew I had to get out. But I knew there was nowhere to go. Then his eyes fell on mine. Sh*t. He just stared at me for a good 5 seconds until everyone started clearing the room, looking confused. I turned to follow Kayla out the door but I felt him snag the back of my long sweater, pulling me back. "Not so fast" he says.

I mouthed to Kayla to help me but she excused herself, following the others. Leaving me to fend for myself. I saw Luke and some other leader, Calum I think it was, watching from the other side of the room. Then he starts yelling. "What the hell Aimee?! Are you trying to get yourself killed!!!?"

I stared up in his brown eyes, and whispered "you left me Andy. And I forgave you. Because I knew you had to do this for yourself. So you have no right to get mad at me for making a choice for myself." He looked somewhat sad by what I had said. But there was no way I was taking it back.

Suddenly he moves towards me, I flinch back, not expecting to be brought into a huge, warm, bear hug. He takes me into his arms and whispers "maybe amity will take you back. You can slip back in, stay low for awhile." I push him away suddenly and say loudly, "you don't get it. I want to be here!" Anger directed to my words. "You can't make the score. You're weak. You won't last training." He says harshly. But somewhere deep inside I knew it was true. "Watch me." I say confidently and walk out the room, leaving him wide eyed and confused. I just need to spend time with Kayla right now. She was the only one who understood.
